I can't see PTA making a movie that is too on-the-nose about politics, or some kind of big message. I'm sure that Spielberg's thoughts are just his own liberal hollywood elite interpretations, and not necessarily what the movie is trying to say.

Definitely going to watch.

But it’s interesting where you laugh here, where you allow us to laugh, and then when you shut it down.”

I'm guessing this will paint us normies in a bad light as the extremists in some sort of way. Can't wait!

WTF? It as Sean Penn in it. The dude won't fart without it having some social justice meaning behind it.

If Penn is in it, you can 100% guarantee it will be slanted far left propoganda.

I didn’t think Spielberg saying the new PTA movie was good would pre-trigger so many people

How many movies has Sean Penn been in that have far left propaganda in it?

It’s probably a mix of Milk and playing your average poliboarder in I Am Sam.

Ah. Didn't realize a PTA thread now largely meant "gathering of idiots".

I must voice my uniformed opinion on a film based solely on a few sentences of praise from another director. I can think of nothing more embarrassing than withholding my very special thoughts until they could conceivably sound intelligent.

Given the actors and the promise of action I will probably see it but am not going to be shocked if the messaging is idiotic.

"This is too real" for an older rich Hollywood type has the risk of resembling a 1980s portrayal of the early 20th century South. There's a place for that type of film but modern realism is not the strength.

So this is a movie about trannies shooting people?

No, it's about career criminals who are on streets due to soft-on-crime liberal policies and the shenanigans they continue to engage in.

I must mount the ramparts once again to diligently defend The Message on the M/TV Board.

Which PTA movies have you disliked so far because of the message? None of you are willing to give the benefit of the doubt to maybe our highest batting percentage filmmaker adapting a novel from one of the most confounding and politically complicated authors of the past 50 years? The same author as Inherent Vice, another book about a former left wing radical hippie dragged into a mess, that no one seemed to feel had any hard left messaging?

The answer to the first question is likely none, or you're trolling. There are reasons to dislike his movies. The left wing message hasn't been one of them.

Maybe this one will be different. I'm doubtful. The presuming, and confidence of the presuming, is idiotic. It isn't based on history, it isn't based on the source material. It's based on the need for virtue signaling; the performance of who on the mtv board can let everyone know they hate movies more than the previous guy. And you are knowingly participating in the idiocy.
