I just don't get this. I mean I understand wanting to be racially sensitive and have more roles for minorities or whatever....but this isn't a regular movie with regular characters. It's based on a character that is already established, and that character is white. Just like I think it's stupid as hell to have a black Annie. We wouldn't make an MLK movie with a white lead actor, why change previously white roles to be black for no reason?

Yeah...this.
I get it...honestly. It would kind of suck to be a minority and have nearly every major superhero have been created long before anyone gave two shits about marking to those darkish people over there... And I certainly see what a studio would want to broaden the scope to more directly reflect the current mindset, and make money off folks who would like to see themselves reflected more directly in their heros.
But...you can't do it by arbitrarily changing characters that have 50+ years of history. Either use variant versions or more modern versions like Morales or create new guys from scratch if you have to.
ETA: Or, use current minority heroes that you have! I'm psyched for the Black Panther movie!
But doing this is not alright...and pointing that out, is not...I'm happy to say, racist.

There is absolutely no way Marvel won't use Peter Parker. They've been wanting to get this deal done for so long, they're not going to screw with the general audience's heads by using a character most people don't even know exists. Marvel is too smart for that.
