I hope like hell they go for a more veteran Spider-Man. I've had enough of high school Spidey. Give us an actor that looks like he's got a few years of crime fighting under his belt & can hold his own w/ the Avengers.

since they're introducing him in Cap 3, I doubt it'll be an origin story. Should be interesting to see how they explain where he's been

Wow, you can tell who the non-comic folks are when it comes to a Superhero. Anyone want to point me in the direction of geriatric Spiderman comic issues?

yeah, no, the whole story of Spider-Man around "adults" as a teenager, is that they constantly use him and control him for their own end game, it's makes for extremely good story telling.... and

I get what your saying.. You're not looking for a mid to late 30's Spidey...More like the early 20's post college spidey... Would certainly be more grizzled yet still be young enough for the persona

Lol at these responses. I love this board. I guess my wording was poor. By "veteran," I don't mean "old." The Spidey comics I had in the 90s featured a more adult character. I'm sure he finished college, he was working for the Bugle, & he was married to MJ. He wasn't still in high school. I will admit tho that I didn't follow issue to issue, & I'm not 100% on the job & school part. Although I will acknowledge that after thinking about it, we've only had 2 out of 5 Spider-Man movies where he's in hs. Whichever way they do it, I'm still happy that my favorite char as a kid is teaming up w/ the rest of the gang finally.

Surely they'd use Peter Parker and not Miles Morales, right? Right?

Wow, you can tell who the people who don't know what the frick they are talking about are.

Peter Parker had been "grown up" for quite awhile (ie not in fricking highschool) prior to this latest Mike Morales incarnation.

The high school story line is actually a very small part of his story that has been covered too much in film.

Oddly enough, Andrew Garfield could play either one.

Wouldn't mind if they cast this guy as Peter Parker:

As long as they do Carnage and Venom, I'm ok. I don't really like Spiderman other than those two characters.

The thing I liked most about Garfield's Spidey wasn't even Garfield related. Not like he was adlibbing his lines.

His version made Spidey closer to the source material. The quipping is crucial. You never got enough of it with Tobey's version. And when it was there, it wasn't really funny.

Hopefully we get the full spectrum of the character.
