Watched this yesterday. It’s pretty much a movie based on Ultimate Spider-Man - and it smartly delves into the various universes - especially those with Peter.

I personally like Peter Parker better but get Miles as Spidey, if you want a different, younger version. I didn’t notice any SJW stuff - it was more about family and friendships.

Saw this yesterday with wife and kid, was very, very good. I'm as tired of the forced SJW agenda as the next guy, but the diversity thing fits here...when Miles says "Anyone can wear the mask, even you" I couldn't wipe the smile off my kid's face.

Highly recommended.

I saw it tonight. I really liked it, wife hated it.

Not sure how I feel about Spiderpig and the anime looking girl. I liked them I guess but probably could have done without them as well.

Saw it recently. It was phenomenal.

No SJW stuff in the movie.

Pretty sure he was mixed race from the get go with a black father and Puerto Rican mother. He was even drawn to somewhat resemble Donald Glover.

I think you are mixing him up with Miguel O'Hara from Spider-Man 2099.

Not sure why his last name was Morales though since it was his mom that was Hispanic, not his dad.

There are black and white Americans with Hispanic names that don’t appear to be Hispanic. Plenty in Louisiana.

It really was. 2018 was a miserable year for drama, thrillers, and comedies, but it was an absolute banner year for super-hero and action films. So many highly entertaining movies came out this year including Spiderman, Infinity War, Mission ImpossibleL Fallout, Deadpool 2, Hunter Killer, Bumblebee, heck, even Solo was a pretty solid movie.

Aren’t his parents still together in the movie? Why would he take his mothers name?

I just looked it up and apparently it is to distance Miles from his father’s criminal past.

Apparently his dad was a criminal like his uncle and Miles’ mom “saved” him.

Best explanation I could find.

Yeah it is one of the best animated movies I've seen. I loved how they didn't just integrate different characters, but they all kept a unique art-style as well. Phenomenally well done.

Yea, that was awesome.

Penny Parker was anime, Spider-Pig was cartoony, even with his attacks.

And it really did great with the comic book transitions.

Fantastic movie.

Yea, I chuckled.

Also, he would be Miles Davis if he didn’t go by Morales.

I saw it last weekend, it was one of the most fun movie going experiences I've had in a long time. Its probably the best pure comic book adaptation I've ever seen in a movie. The animation was awesome, the characters were great, the soundtrack was badass, the humor was perfectly placed with some great meta jokes, and the movie worked in some really great heartfelt moments.

The only problem that I took away from the movie was that I took way to long to go see it, because I'd love to see it in theaters again.

Completely agree with all of that. I’m definitely buying it when it comes out.

Same.

Theater was still more than half full at 415 today though.

100% agreed, I would put this up with any superhero movie, live action or otherwise.
