So who wants a Robert’s Rebellion show NOT involving D&D?

I think it would be awesome to a young Bobby B and Ned Stark whipping that dragon arse. Maybe we could see Bessie and her tittehs. I’d watch either that or a show about the Doom of Valyria and Aegon’s conquest. What spinoffs would y’all want for GoT?

"Rheagar may have forgotten about Robert's forces hiding in wait at the Trident but they didn't necessarily forget about him."

I would much rather these than RR. We already saw Jaime kill the Mad King and the Tower of Joy.

Doom of Valyria would be insanely expensive

Shush,

Jaime was at KL by himself which is the only reason he managed to save it.

Hightower and his boys were at the ToJ.

Martell Darry and Selmy fought at the Trident.

Technically they were covered.

Just Jaime had a conscience.

Yeah but I wanna see the contrasting viewpoints of Rhaegar and Luann’s falling in love while ned’s Brother and parents burn and Robert and Ned’s raise their bannermen.

I wanna see Robert fight Rhaegar st the battle of the trident.

It’s a significant more thought out story with an interesting and satisfying but subversive ending already dons.

I’d prefer to go further back in time and have stories about completely new characters that we haven’t met yet. RR will be made at some point I’m sure, but shouldn’t just yet imo.

Or Arya’s Westward adventures

I want this too but for some reason I feel like this will get screwed up. By all accounts Robert beat Rhaegar 1 v 1 in a clean fight, right? I wouldn't be surprised if some show had Rhaegar get slightly distracted by something else (maybe a friend beside him dying or something?) in the middle of the fight and Robert cuts him down while he's not looking. I just have the feeling any show of the actual fight will try to delegitimize his victory.

I don’t get why anyone would have any desire to see this. Many major and minor events are laid out in the book and show, sometimes in great detail. What’s the point when you know exactly where the story is going to end up?

ETA I could see maybe if they cover some of the time period between the rebellion and the start of the series. Like if it was from LF’s perspective. I could get behind that

I dont Think you have to ubdercut the victory.

I think The point is maybe that Robert’s anger was misplaced and he longed after a girl he barely knew and killed her true love.

Its Essentially the Iliad, but Rhaegar is Paris and Hector combined, and Robert is Menelaus, Agamemnon and Achilles combined.

Wouldn’t it be interesting to see Rhaegar’s textiles to Ned’s brother and father being killed because he ran away with Lyanna?

The interactions between The Mad King and Tywin and Rhaegar?

We get The main plot but we really don’t get the human factor.

Oh I don't think you have to either. And I don't want to see Robert win his fight with Rhaegar via some cheap trick, I just have an ominous feeling that's how it'd be presented.

Robert's Rebellion would be dumb. I don't want to watch a series where half the people we just saw would be recast.

I’m not really married to young Nedd or Lyanna

recast them if you want.

Odd logic. Why would I watch any movie or show based on a book?

Y’all should listen to Hardcore Game of Thrones

Amazing Dan Carlin retelling of the Targaryen Conquest, the events leading up to Roberts Rebellion all the way through the war of the 5 kings.

Phenomenal listen

All the people who fought in that war would be recast. Tywin, Ned, Rob, Jamie, Cersei etc. I didn't like the young Ned recast either. The tech to age down Sean Bean was there. They were too cheap to use it.

It would have way more dragons than this show and Valyria is not supposed to look like regular medieval Europe. Plus there’s the Doom. All very cool but the cost of the show would definitely be very high because they would need to use way more CGI. Much of the earlier GoT seasons didn’t use as much CGI and were smaller scale so there were cheaper.
