So what happens after Episode IX?

Do they just keep making episodes X - whatever? Or do they just make a new Star Wars film every year set in the universe but focusing on different characters?

Disney isn't going to stop printing money if that's what you're asking.

They'll keep making them as long as people keep buying tickets.

Who cares at this point?

I believe they will release a few stand alone films and then a new trilogy.
I also seem to remember that Rian will make the next trilogy. So hold on to your butts....

Episode 8 ended Star Wars for me. I will see the Han Solo film because its not part of the series, but I see no reason to continue this trilogy.
They blew stuff up one movie to early.

I don't have any faith that this movie will be done well. I really hope I'm wrong.

Where better to tie a bow around the franchise than with Luke Skywalker’s passing — Han Solo having already been despatched in 2015’s installment of this latest portion of the saga.
Actor Carrie Fisher’s death last year means her iconic character Leia Organa can’t plausibly continue to offer nostalgic continuation to the rebel cause in the forthcoming final episode from this main plotline.

I won’t watch it. Done with Disney Star Wars.

We all know you will watch it.

I’m not really a fanboy. I love the first 2...I like TFA because it set it up to do new and interesting things...despite what the critics say about the direction the movie pushed the mythology, I thought it borrowed too much from the originals. TFA was a one time pass because I understood why it had to be that way
I don’t like Jedi, I think rogue one is meh at best and the third act is a convoluted mess. I hate the prequels. I enjoyed TFA for what it was though it still had a lot to dislike. I hate the last Jedi
There are 2 Star Wars movies I like, and I now know it’s too popular for its own good in an era of blockbuster movie making devoid of passion and effort

Skywalker Saga is over after episode 9. Hopefully we get some KOTOR.

Lol, I'm not even going to watch TLJ.
Star Wars ended for me when George sold it to the mouse.
I'll stay at the Star Wars Disney hotel when I go to Disney World. That'll be about it.

KOTOR.
There are some damn good storylines here.

Pretty much an infinite amount of storylines. They can pick characters from different time periods across several thousand years.
