It's just not a DDL type character. I'd bet he wouldn't take it even if offered.

Would love to see Idris Elba in that role.

I'd rather have Rupert Grint, personally

I never saw 50 Shades but this guy has been really good on Netflix's The Fall...

Jamie Dornan

Kinda' looks like if Henry Cavill and Elijah Woods had a kid...

I think Fassbender would be a perfect Bond, but they'll never give the job to a German. Cavill would be a great Bond, but that will never happen either because of his commitment to being Superman.

Will be interesting to see where they go next. They're digging deep into Bond's psyche and past. If they get a new Bond after Spectre, would they continue that trend of really humanizing Bond or would they reboot the series again with a different direction?

Fassbender looks more like a Bond villain than Bond himself IMO.

There's about a 95% chance the next Bond is not someone anyone has heard of. I think Pierce Brosnan was the biggest star at the time of his casting and he wasn't even the big of a name. Craig would probably be second. No one knew who Sean Connery was when he got the role.

This just goes to show that no matter what it is someone out there is betting on it. Some people have some serious problems.

He is only 3 years young than Craig. Seems strange

My personal pick would be Cillian Murphy. Just don't know if he could be convincing enough in the action sequences, but some of that is due to just how good Craig has been. Ever since Peaky Blinders, I've got my finger crossed for Murphy in a huge role like this.

ETA: He'd probably be much better suited for a villain, a la
Scarecrow, but I'd still be intrigued.

I'm fine with that list until you get to Orlando Bloom. Hell, Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan did it and were popular but ridiculous choices, so this isn't anything all that important. My pick would be Tom Hardy followed by Fassbender. Damian Lewis would be fine. Idris Elba too though it creates plot problems for anybody who cares about a plot that is credible (a small minority).

I only know him as Maj. Richard Winters, which was awesome. Still an odd choice, but a lot of folks said that about Craig.

And yeah, Idris or Fassbender would've killed it.

These stories always pop up even though Craig is still Bond. Its as if you're British and handsome, your agent will throw your name out there for Bond.

So what explains this dude?

Fassbender is exactly what you would picture Bond as, but to me that is exactly why he shouldn't be cast. It's time for a different perspective on Bond and that means it's time for Idris Elba.

Maybe have Elba play Bond and Fassbender play the villain and see how this reversal works.

After seeing the list, I now understand why everyone is pulling for Idris Elba. Outside of him and Tom Hardy, that list is a shite show.

What? Fassbender would be a phenomenal Bond.
