I was going to try to summarize a great story about this movie, but I'll just let Kelly Lynch herself tell it.

(For context, Kelly Lynch has been married for 30+ years to Mitch Glazer, one of the Murray brothers' longtime writing partners.)

This guy?

That was actually John X. Doe, one of the founders and leaders of the Los Angeles punk band X:

Yet another reason why this movie was such a hidden treasure, a true gem.

Terry Funks jeans tucked in his white boots is legit too.

1. Never underestimate your opponent. Expect the unexpected.

2. Take it outside.

3. Be nice.

John Doe was also George Straight’s drummer and best friend in Pure Country.

I had a boss who (after seeing the movie) started peppering, "It's my way or the highway." into every staff meeting. He also let us know that he had changed his retirement plans and was now looking at opening a rural bar.

That broad (Julie Michaels) was fricking fire. The kind ships set sail for war.
From the neck down, it is hard to imagine anyone besting her. To me, her face always had a "harsh" quality to it. As far as being "pretty," she was not even in Kelly Lynch's league.

that movie had a huge impact on me. I started bouncing in bars in college in 94. the next 15yrs of my life i bounced part time in night clubs in bars from Dallas to Baton rouge. the first club i worked at was the "Jolly Fox" in huntsville tx. i swear the double duece was modelled after the fox. I always chuckled when a drunk dude would start talking to me about the time he was a "cooler" no one ever called a bouncer a 'cooler" in the real world!

Why did the young women in the 80s all look old??

Someone said earlier in the thread Julie Michaels was 18 or 19 at the time of filming, I think Kelly Lynch was early to mid 20s.

They both look a lot older than girls that age now.
