Disney isnt creative. The destruction of purchased properties has proven that. Oh, and . . . .
The studios werent even merged when Pixars most recognizable characters began development
So him highlighting Disneys success is a joke. They bought those characters, because even their own board recognized they were a losing proposition

Lasseter revealed that Iger had felt that Disney needed to buy Pixar while watching a parade at Hong Kong Disneyland. Iger noticed that of all the Disney characters in the parade, none were characters that Disney had created within the last ten years since all the newer ones had been created by Pixar.
quote:
Iger commissioned a financial analysis that confirmed that Disney had actually lost money on animation for the past decade, then presented that information to the board of directors at his first board meeting

Lasseter and Catmull's oversight of both the Disney Feature Animation and Pixar studios did not mean that the two studios were merging, however. In fact, additional conditions were laid out as part of the deal to ensure that Pixar remained a separate entity

On June 8, 2018, it was announced that Lasseter would leave Disney Animation and Pixar at the end of the year

Docter conceived Inside Out in October 2009 after observing changes in his daughter's personality as she grew older. The project was subsequently green-lit, and Docter and co-director Ronnie del Carmen developed the story

Disney‘s feature take on its classic 1937
It’s kind of nuts but my daughters’ favorite movie was made in 1937.
The original really is so good and must have been an absolute revelation. The animation and songs hold up near 100 years later.
There really is an entertainment world before Snow White and after Snow White.
Side note, my 3 year old would like a spinoff about the turtle in this movie. She is always wondering what the turtle is doing.

You just ignored a whole lot. Inside Out 2 didn't start development in 2009. Disney has owned a controlling stake in Pixar since 2006.
And, again, you're only criticizing Disney for this, and not every other major studio, all of whom found success through the fruits of the same methods in 2024. Those methods being the standard operating procedure of the major Hollywood studios for decades. Agree to co-produce and distribute smaller independent shingle, then buy said shingle.
You have never seen a Pixar film that wasn't brought to you by Disney.
I don't like Disney. I want these live action remakes to die. If for no other reason than these dumbass threads with these dumbass arguments will cease to exist. Saying Disney did not have a successful 2024 is fricking stupid. It is wishcasting.
Disney bumped several questionable projects to 2025, ensuring their 2024 would look stellar. Why not just wait a few months and declare Disney to be dying at the end of 2025? At that point they'll likely have had a bummer snow white remake, a disappointing Pixar project (Elio), a bomb in Lilo and Stitch, 2/3 disappointing Marvel films, and a disaster Tron threequel. You'll delude yourself into saying $2 billion from Avatar 3 doesn't count anyway, so nothing to worry about there. Let 2025 be your moment; stop making yourself sound stupid about 2024.

Someone may have already posted this, but this movie is in a unique place where the far right people hate one star (Zegler) and the far left people hate the other star (Gadot).
Interested to see just how much it impacts the box office.

Is there really a lot of people out there that hate Gadot? Seems to me like it's just a few loudmouths on Twitter
Posted on 3/19/25 at 10:40 am to RLDSC FAN
Variety said there were dozens of pro-Palestinian and pro-Israeli protestors at Gadot's walk of fame ceremony this week.
At least dozens of people don't like Gadot; though it's more likely those dozens have decided to use her public presence as an excuse to voice their opinions on world politics, not Gadot herself.

It could just be bots, but the amount of retweets on the Gadot “Zionist” crap is pretty equivalent to what I’ve seen for stuff against Zegler.

You know what, I'll simply take Igers word that Disney has zero creativity, so he buys other studios to prop up their bottom line, over your opinion on the topic

Maybe they lied about enjoying it. Seems about half the critics like it and half dont. Hook only had 29% critic score. Does that mean it sucks or that noone enjoyed it or that only 3/10 enjoyed it?
Mixed reviews normally means it depends person to person if you will enjoy something

Nobody cares about critics. Hook has a 76% audience score. That's what matters if we're even taking RT seriously at all.

Except some of the positive reviews are paid for, so it’s a misrepresentation.
