His monologue was a lot better this time. And the skits have been good as well. The Please Don’t Destroy one was awesome.

Great episode. The Sound and couple beers were the best outside the monologue. I’ve seen that type of race skit before so it wasn’t that original. I think SNL did it a while back honestly. The chicken people line was gold though

He is Leslie Jones 2.0. He’s only there to check a box and plays the same character 90% of the time. Don’t think I’ve ever laughed at anything he’s done.

Sadly the only thing I found remotely funny was the News bit

If I was Shane I would make this the last appearance and move on

Just watched.

Had two thoughts. First, Shane doesn't give a frick, which makes it awesome. That opening didn't land, but he knew his audience and approached it as he wanted anyway. Second, that MF looks like a young John Candy with that mustache.

It was so awful. I have never been more disgusted with SNL.

I watch most episodes of SNL and this was a very weak one. I agree, the only skit I actually laughed at was the News one. The cold open was average.

Bowen Yang remains one of the worst cast members in a long time. And yet they kept trotting him out there for all the 50th stuff like he's an important person.

Knew where he was going when he started talking about the civil war documentary.

Shelby Foote was related to a confederate general and people are shocked somehow that a man from greenwood would admit to wanting to fight for the confederacy

Shelby Foote
was the best thing in The Civil War series.

Gillis exaggerated for comedic effect (which is fine, I figured he'd zone in on Foote). A decent bit.

I just watched it. I’m the biggest Shane fan around and good God that monologue was cringe

I don’t know why, but he looks so uncomfortable and he has so many pauses and takes forever It has no flow to it
