Sex Education on Netflix

Didn't see a thread on it, if there is one...sorry.
Like most of you, we are out of shows due to the lack of anything to do during COVID. We got a recommendation for Sex Education on Netflix. The trailer didn't reel us in, but we gave it a try. I am pleasantly surprised. It's a fairly well written teen coming of age comedy/drama that I have actually enjoyed watching. We just finished Season 1, so the wheels could come off next season, we'll see. I've heard it was renewed for a 3rd.
Gillian Anderson (looks damn good for 51) is the overbearing divorced mother who is a sex therapist raising a sexually repressed 16 year old son. Awkwardness and teen angst ensues.
If you're searching for a show, it'll kill some time with a few laughs.

Yeah very good show. I still haven’t started S2 either but the first season was great
You’d probably enjoy The End of the Fking World on Netflix as well.

Pretty weird (for me) but I liked it

I'll watch anything with Gillian Anderson in it.

There was a thread a while back, but once a show thread reaches page 3 or 4 there's a new one that will pop up. That being said....
I really enjoyed the first season but lost interest with each episode in S2 after that. The show needed to have more interaction with the punk rock Margot Robbie look a like and Otis.
S1 has that Charlie Bartlett feel which I also feel like was minimized in S2. I could be misremembering though since it's been a while.

The first two seasons both have cliff hangers and I was most dissatisfied with the ending of S2. Any current gender-based, LBGT, or disabled storylines will be covered in excess. They build up the relationship of the punk rock Margot Robbie and nerd Otis to the point that they are about to commit as loves for life. Then they shat that all up at the ending of S1 and 2 THH. It's the kind of show that you should probably wait till the end of the final season to watch the whole thing.

Yep, I see that.

I've seen viewer ratings that indicate the show lost half the viewers watching it in S1.

First season was really good, second season was ok.

weird bump here, but just watched the first two seasons...and really enjoyed them. they should make season 3 the last, but if you are looking for something to watch, this is enjoyable (good overview from the OP).

I remember the previous thread. People complaining about the bait-and-switch: nudity in the early episodes that completely dried up after that. Still a good show, but yeah that one girl had some sweet ones.

I couldn’t stop laughing during season 2, not from jokes in the show but from the idea of Otis picking that we’re Skeeter-looking chick over the fire teenage Margot Robbie.
So dumb.
So dumb.
