Servant — Shyamalan series on Apple

I’m two episodes in and wasn’t expecting much. But this is pretty damn good so far. M. Night produced it and directed the first episode. It is utterly creepy. Moody. Atmospheric. All the scenes are shot in low light. And so far, well written.
The acting is meh, especially the guy playing the husband. Ron Weasley is in it, speaking with an American accent. He’s not bad.
Like most Shyamalan stuff, I expect it to go off the rails before the end. But so far so good.

It literally goes nowhere after the first season. No answers to anything and just more questions. You will give up after season 2 or 3. Don't even remember if they finished the series yet or if got cancelled

Good for first possibly second season, but trailed off real fast after that. I watched the entire thing hoping it would get back on track.

They finished it and from what I remember the ending was preposterous.

So they are taking a page out of the book for From?

I liked it, mostly. It was a very slow burn, but weird/compelling enough to keep me interested.

Wife and I binged the whole thing a few months ago in like 2 weekends since the eps are only 30 min. Thought it was pretty good. You kinda go back and forth the whole show as to who is the real villain, the nanny, the cult, or the family. The setting did get old though, literally the whole show takes place inside the same house with maybe a handful of scenes right outside of it in the street.
The flashback episode where they reveal how the baby died was a thing of nightmares and maybe the best part of the show.
Sidenote: I’m sober but man this show really made me feen for some wine. They drink a bottle in pretty much every episode

I enjoyed it start to finish. The incredible Brownstone was a main character in this.

Wonder who Shyamalan stole the idea for this show from....

This was my biggest concern related to that show. It just seemed like the type that would go nowhere, and have random cliffhangers to keep stringing you along. I think I’m just going to wait until they end the series, and check back in and see if there’s a proper resolution.
As for OP, it’s been a minute since I watched this show, but I think I remember being in agreement with others here. Really enjoyed the first season, and started to grow tired of it.
