If Ronstadt is on board why do you care ?

Hollywood is such a copycat industry. Was Linda Ronstadt's personal life so fascinating that we really need a biopic? You just know we will get a Joni Mitchell too but at least she wrote her own songs. I actually love Linda Ronstadt but this is a big yawn for me. I will stick with her music.

Selena does it for me. Would not pull out.

She’s hit or miss as an actress on Murders Only. She’s definitely the weakest of the bunch.

I’ve heard her and seen her plenty besides acting and she seems genuinely funny and humble.

Now, that being said... she's a normal healthy weight and WOOD, but she's not hollywood skinny by any means.

and she also seems to be like nice person from what i can tell and way more humble than most of hollywood. she also seems to have avoided the Curse of becoming a drugged out, pretend-lesbian weirdo post Disney Life.

she's outclassed on OMitB but still plays the role well IMO.

I would've gone with Jenna Ortega personally (who is also a much better actress)

Ronstadt used her success to promote Mexican music.
Romney (some would say) used his Mexican birth to further his success.

Not sure what Romney has to do with any of this, but of the three, Ronstadt was the one who insisted on celebrating her Mexican heritage and love for the music at a time when it was seen as a detriment and not some social or political asset. Her success in the Latin music industry was in spite of her friends and handlers telling her that it would be at best a waste of time, at worst a career killer. Her Grammy winning Spanish language album still holds the record as the biggest selling non-English album of all time.

It's a fricking shame that younger generations have Ronstadt pigeon-holed as a white bread cover artist.
