Reed Richards: Adam Driver - Richards should be older and have wisdom about him.

For sure. I guess it’s fine that Driver isn’t handsome at all but def should’ve gone with an actor in his 40s.

Sue Storm: Margot Robbie

I’d cash out my retirement just to eat her booty but I don’t love this one either.

Ben Grimm: Daveed Diggs

I dont think it matters much who plays Thing. He’ll either be covered in a costume or CGI enhanced like Thanos/Brolin.

I liked the way Thing looked in that miserable 2015 movie:

FWIW the 2015 movie did a great job showing Human Torch’s fire. The flames looked great and really sounded good. Had the sound of an intense fire.

Will he still be Jewish? It’s a pretty big part of his character.

The director is Jewish himself and has been adamant about finding a Jewish actor for Thing.

Yeah well this board may have played a part by getting the director fired and post production magic to change everything

I can’t even see Daveed Diggs as a tough guy, much less the Thing

To be honest, you're not really wrong. While I feel it was a big part, it wasn't something they revealed right away. I think it may have been like 40 years after his introduction.

Of course, I think it was pretty well known from early on that he was based on Jack Kirby who is Jewish, but that's not quite the same thing.

Adam Driver will be the oldest actor to play Reed so far.

I did not know that. But they have all sucked anyway.

Dammit, I grew up with Reed having those classic grey streaks on the sides of his head. He was the elder statesman.

I don't want an angsty emo turd playing him.

Oh, that’s right. Someone narc’d on Trank treating the house in BR that the producers rented for him like absolute trash. Practically vandalized, if I recall.

Cool how both Kirby and Lee drew from their own lives to help shape their characters. Unlike the hacks of today who just self insert themselves in the “reimagined“ works of other people. (See Velma)

A little blog research says it was a story in 2002 that confirmed Ben Grimm as officially Jewish.

Most of my comic reading was well before that, and I thought it had been suggested at times before that with Ben wearing a star of David necklace, but I can't say for sure.

There was a poster here that was obsessed with seeing that movie fail. He started a thread that got pretty big. That's what I remember from it.

Jewish mom (which makes him a Jew) and he grew up in the faith.

Hilarious if they cast a black Jew. Is it more important that Ben is white or that he is Jewish? To be honest, Kirby and Lee were two men who changed their names to fit in. They were never pushing religion into the FF.

Skin color isn't so important, since he is orange rock almost all the time

A user posting on the Louisiana-based message board TigerDroppings says that Josh Trank behaved irresponsibly on the set of The Fantastic Four, showing up late or "so high he couldn’t speak almost everyday." Someone immediately posted a confirmation on the site, though these are relatively anonymous posts and should be read with the proverbial grain of salt. The messages go on to say that Trank "trashed the house the production company rented for him" and allegedly "treated crew terribly."

A couple of sights reported on it. Josh Trank was later fired from Star Wars with the excuse being creative differences or something like that and hasn't done anything since.
