Charles S Dutton deserved a Best Supporting Actor nomination IMO.
Him telling Rudy to go back after he quit has become my favorite scene as I've gotten older.

My dad met Rudy once at an event where Rudy was speaking. My dad took his own tie off and signed it, and gave it to Rudy so he wouldn’t leave without someone’s autograph.

He spoke at my school when I was in 6th or 7th grade.
He was kind of a dick and wouldn't hang around to give autographs, but he provided a signed copy of "Rudy's Rules" for the school to frame and put up in the library. So we had that going for us.

There's clearly a giant divide between the truth and the movie, but if you just accept the movie as a story and turn your brain off, it's amazing.

There was an ESPN article a few years ago where people on that team said just about everything Rudy says/claims is bullshite. It was hilarious reading it. Writer confronted Rudy about it and he got big mad.
