It’s has great characters, story line. A great battle scene.

It’s the best one made since the 80s but it doesn’t beat Star Wars or Empire for me

Uh, disagree. Like a lot. And I actually like that movie.

No. Honestly you can start the movie right at the start of the third act and not be remotely confused on what is going on. That’s a major flaw in the movie.

I enjoy all of the SW films, yes I said all but Empire ftw imo

Probably my favorite outside of Star Wars and empire strikes back.

It’s infuriating to know the potential Star Wars has and watch it consistently squandered because corporate suits can’t stop meddling.
ETA: rogue one was the closest we got during the sequel trilogy era to a great movie but it still wasn’t an A+. It was like a B+ Movie. Enjoyable and good star wars lore but the ending scene really singlehandedly elevates the movie.

Agreed, I also think it's one of the best war movies ever

Disagree.
However, it's the best Star Wars movie Disney has made since purchasing the IP.

Pure fan service. The last 20 minutes do not make up for the rest of the film being mediocre.

... at best

great characters
It does not.

Story line
In the second half of the movie. The first half is quite dull.

Great battle scene
Considering the “space rules” that Star Wars operates under, I would agree.

I agree. I like it better than any of the other movies, old and new.

That is correct.

Loved it. That being said I did really enjoy Solo as well.
What made Rogue One unique, for me at least, is that it moved away from the fun themes and scenes that pretty much all other Star wars movies were entwined with. Rogue One was gritty, much more of a war movie set in the Star Wars universe than a "Star Wars movie".
I'd love to see more in the same vein. Maybe something fleshing out the Bothan sacrifices in finding the second death star plans, or a gritty take on the X-Wing book series focusing on Wedge and Corran Horn. Yssane Isard could make a menacing villain, and she's a woman so it checks the box. That would effectively reboot the sequel series though.

Rougue One has a lot of flaws.
But it's a love letter to the OT, so I can overlook a lot of them.

Rogue One starts off slow, but it picks up well and ends up being awesome. I'd even rank it as high as the third best SW movie (behind the original and Empire).
I know it leads up to the original, so it has that going for it from the start...but that being said, RO may have the most "Star Wars feel" to it than any other of the entries. It just feels like SW, and that's a great thing.
Solo is great. Similarly to RO, it starts off a little slow. But once it finds its groove it settles down and is super entertaining. And I thought I would hate the kid that played Solo, but he actually did a great job and was believable. It's just a fun, fun movie IMO.

I am a big fan of Solo as well.
I'd probably rank it 5th or 6th overall. Maybe 7th if you count The Mandolorian.

I love Rogue One. It’s one of my favorite movies of the 2010’s. It’s not as great as the original Star Wars trilogy, but it’s damn close. I find it gets better with every rewatch.
Solo, on the other hand, is just okay. It’s a competent film, but it doesn’t have anywhere near the emotional weight of Rogue One or even ROTS. I usually rank solo somewhere around 6th or 7th. It’s clearly ahead of Phantom Menace, AOTC, TLJ, and Rise of Skywalker, but clearly behind the original trilogy, Rogue One, and ROTS.
