Loved it. They did New Orleans right, but I read the real Gary Johnson did all of his work in Houston. And they obviously made up the ending

Movie was satisfyingly entertaining. Adriana Arjona can get it.

Glen Powell is an absolute star. That was a fun 2 hours. And Madison was an absolute smoke show.

I liked it. Not what I expected at all and that’s a good thing.

I really like Glen Powell.

I think Netflix is contractually obligated to put the most bland product out there when it comes to movies. The characters are likeable but just felt like a made for television movie I’d see on CBS after an episode of 60 minutes.

I get the feeling that Powell co-wrote this as a resume reel for himself. Showcasing his strengths.

It worked. We watched it last night and thought it was very good but maybe not great. But very, very good and better than 90% of what gets released. Highly recommend.

I also recommend reading the article it’s based on. Outside of the love story and murder stuff it wasn’t as made up as I thought. The real guy had 60 hitman arrests in the Houston area. I assumed there was no way that many cases could happen in one area. Especially after he was in court cases and in the public record. He even said he figured people would google hitman when they want to hire someone like him come across his name, but it never happened.

He did talk an abused woman out of hiring him (but never got with her after). he did do research on people and for this woman it was obvious she was a victim of severe domestic abuse. Most of the undercover stings came straight from the article.

He is originally from Louisiana and got his masters in psychology from McNeese. He himself said he was socially awkward, and that probably played into a success because nobody could believe he was a cop. He did do some disguises but like in the movie…that was a fun exaggeration.

ETA

Stopped watching halfway through because the plot started to seem like a cookie-cutter made-for-TV movie.

Restarted and the third act was pretty good.

Overall better than most Netflix movies.

How about we get an actual good Hitman movie based on the video game

Olyphant killed that role.

Watched this with Mrs Wodie last night and we both thought it was a big bag of meh. Dragged way too much at points, no action, and underwhelming leads. Powell is ok but he’s like a brand value Gosling with less rizz and comedic chops.

No idea how this is 98% on RT. 3/10.

I wanna hate Glen Powell but every interview I’ve seen he seems like a great guy. Big family man where his sister is his manager and he brings his parents and her to all of his premiers.

And he’s a huge college football nut.

Nice to see him getting more roles

I don't get these complaints. The film is constantly shifting whats going on, making it hard to pin down what could possibly happen, which is the opposit of dragging. It's not an action movie, but again, things are constantly happening. The leads had enough chemistry that I thought they could have rescued basically any material given to them.

Glen Powell has excelled in every smaller movie he's been involved with. I've mainly seen Arjona in TV stuff, such as Good Omens, but I've liked her in everything.

I don't think Hit Man is amazing, but I do think it's an unpredictable, clever little film that is engaging throughout.

Watched it last night, and truly enjoyed it. Female lead looks like a sexier Rose Byrne, and Powell carries what he needs to carry. Surprised to see it as a passion project from Linklater, but I really enjoyed it.

That was a really enjoyable movie. Powell has been good to great in every movie I’ve seen him in. It was also a really well cast movie. The undercover Indian dude almost stole the movie.

Fun watch. That Notes app scene was amazing

Great chemistry between the leads and Madison is one of the baddest bitches I’ve ever laid eyes upon
