I've mainly seen Arjona in TV stuff, such as Good Omens, but I've liked her in everything.

I only recall seeing her in Andor as Cassian's ex-GF, seemingly always hidden in mechanics jumpsuits. I did not know she had that hot of a body, especially as the stewardess. Wah wah wee wah!

My wife and I both heaved a sigh of relief as he shut the door to leave. Both waiting for that record scratch.

I really enjoyed it. I’d give it a 9/10. Solid, fun movie. I kept thinking that Gary was going to leave Madison after learning that she killed her husband, but he didn’t and I liked that. One of the better rom-coms I’ve seen.

I didnt see it getting dark with him killing the friend cop at the end.

They both became kind of psychotic, then married and had kids

And THAT’S how you make a film in New Orleans. They didn’t keep hitting you over the head with it.

Linklater is legit and did New Orleans right for sure.

One of the few times that's ever happened.

i was pretty disappointed they moved the story from Houston to New Orleans the tax money but at least he did it well. I just wanted a Linlater movie in Houston cause he does such a good job with settings in a era where every thing is filmed in Atlanta or Louisana

no bad accents, no bourbon street. Mae's and Ave pub are great bars

I enjoyed the movie and am a big fan of Powell and the director but that RT score is surprisingly high. I thought the third act was great but for it to be a comedy centered around a fake hit man, it dragged and was pretty boring for a lot more than I anticipated.

It's still better than most of the new stuff, which is saying something, at least with the support it's getting we'll get more quality comedies.

How about we get an actual good Hitman movie based on the video game

Wasn’t the Timothy olyphant hitman movie based off the video games? I may be incorrect, but I thought they were

That’s what he’s alluding to, they were notoriously panned by critics and fans of the video game series

I only played one hitman game growing up so it’s still a fun bad action movie with a fun lead for me, but still an objectively bad movie and I understand why people who are fans of the original really hate it

Olyphant himself has stated how much he hates the movie, but I think he said he wouldn’t take it back because it bought him a house, or something to that effect

Olyphant revealed that he only took the role out of fear of losing his house when Deadwood was suddenly canceled.

This is the problem I have with the story, and with Glen Powell's acting. His character has to make a transition for this plot point to work, but there was nothing, he just accepted that she was a killer, and then suddenly he's capable of murder.

I just happen to be watching Season 7 of Dexter right now, and Jennifer Carpenter did an amazing job of coming to the nauseating realization of who Dexter really was, and then transitioning to sort-of accept it because she doesn't want him to rot in prison, so she starts to see and accept the benefits of extra-judicial justice. Of course in a TV show they have more time to work this out, but in Hit Man there was no attempt made to see how his character transitions his mindset and comes to accept it.

100% my thoughts exactly. It was way better than the normal netflix movies but was still just kinda okay. I did like that the plot ended in an unconventional way

Fun watch. That Notes app scene was amazing

Great chemistry between the leads and Madison is one of the baddest bitches I’ve ever laid eyes upon

That scene was really well acted by both characters.

That scene actually really greatly acted ironically.

***spoilers below***

I enjoyed it. My wife was completely dismayed at the ending (till she saw that the very end/murder was completely made up)

I rationalized it a bit. Neither Madison nor Gary were cold blooded murderers. Madison did out of necessity, and that caused Gary to do the same in kind. In movie world, they both killed awful people and then settled into domestic life. They both should be arrested but it’s not the worst murder i’ve ever seen.

Great intro, then dragged for about 20 minutes. They could have cut out a couple of the sting operations or at least done them a bit differently. I understand why they needed them, but it was a little much. But man, the last 30 minutes or so was pretty thrilling. Been a minute since I experienced that much anticipation from a movie. Wife and I were both up straight in the bed.

To my point above, this is why they had so many of the sting scenes. Gary's disguises become crazier as the movie progresses to the point of absurdity. He has changed. Couple this with his increasingly confident relationship with Madison it's pretty obvious he's far gone. Every college lecture scene is a reminder of his new found enlightenment. I thought it seemed fair anyway.

Good looking film. I wish I knew more about cinematography to put it into words. For a second there I thought the film was going to end on a really dark note with Gary cutting off Jasper's fingertips.

Finally got around watching Hit Man. Probably my favorite movie of the year thus far.

1. I definitely want to see more Glen Powell - Richard Linklater collaborations.

2. As others have said, this movie really did New Orleans right. Showcased some less-filmed areas like Lakeview, City Park, Warehouse District and UNO's campus (lol).

3. Adria Arjona is terrific but am I the only one who constantly gets her confused with Eiza González? During the whole movie I kept thinking "Wow, they really play down her looks on 3 Body Problem."
