The Rules of Attraction (2002)
Posted on 8/18/21 at 9:26 am to Kevin Garvey
I watched Primer for the first time last night.
It was pretty good but confusing. Part of the issue was that the sound/dialogue is not always clear so that unless you rewind, you can be in the dark about what is going on. I would catch myself thinking, "what did he just say?" and then thinking, "I'll just watch further to get the explanation." Well, there was never an explanation coming.
I love time travel/parallel universe stories and this one has held up fairly well for being a low budget Indie film from 2004.

Watched Wraith last night
It reminded me a ton of Mandy. I wonder if they got some inspiration from Wraith.

Ravenous
Fantastic movie. Cool soundtrack. Guy Pearce and Robert Carlyle. Unique. Creepy. Fun. Weird.
One evening after a night of drinking in college my buddy and I came home and starting watching Ravenous. We were hungry but the only thing I had was a couple cans of Chunky Beef Stew. We sat around a coffee table silently eating this pot of Chunky Beef stew watching that movie. One of those strange memories you just cant forget.

Brainstorm 1983

Its mostly known as the film Natalie Wood was filming when she died. Perhaps that fact along with the subject matter of film and eerie score by James Horner makes it one of those films that just makes my skin crawl even though it isnt really scary. Decent performance by Christopher Walken too.

I loved that movie, I hadn't thought of it in years. Now that you mentioned it, I'm going to see where it's streaming right now

The Big Bounce got horrible reviews, but I love that movie.

Part of the fun of Primer is figuring it out… and googling the charts and watching again. It’s definitely confusing, it’s meant to be.

Primer is a great sci-fi film, but one of the most confusing movies ever made. It takes the subject of time travel, and all the implications that follow, and lays them out in the most complicated, but accurate fashion possible. It takes a LOT of analysis to fully understand the film, and even though I thought I did, this chart proves me wrong.

Those are great movies. I’ll give a slight nod to the second one as well. Before Wagner Moura did his Pablo Escobar
Wagner Moura's probably my favorite actor. Really would like to see him in more films and/or tv shows.

No problem. I hope that you love them as much as I did. If you saw Wagner Moura in Narcos, you probably will.

Butter. This movie is funny and a little edgy for such a silly center story.
