The comedy is set in the underbelly of a Los Angeles where puppets and humans co-exist. Two clashing detectives, one human (Melissa McCarthy) and one puppet, are forced to work together to figure out who is brutally murdering the former cast of The Happytime Gang, a beloved classic puppet show.
Brian Henson directs the comedy in conjunction with Jim Henson Company’s Henson Alternative banner.

Seems like the filthy-Muppet jokes would get old fast.

I agree but the Jim Henson company being behind this gives me hope that it will be solid

Saw the preview for this before Deadpool. Hard pass

This is an excellent concept that's right up my ally. I can count on one hand the number of lead actresses they could cast in this to make me not want to see it.
That'll do it.

Nothing about that sounds appealing to me.

that cum scene in the trailer

Meh. Peter Jackson did this 30 years ago.

one of those, "the idea/premise sounds interesting, but the trailer looks like crap"

A little goes a long way.

I was honestly hoping it was the return of that puppet character as a cop

There's so much "No" in this movie I lost count.

So it's Melissa McCarthy instead of Bob Hoskins in a shitty Roger Rabbit knockoff? No thanks.

I was already out on McCarthy and someone the trailer made it even worse

I would have liked to have heard the pitch to the studio for this movie.
