I reluctantly typed that, because I agree with you. But it seemed like the show makers were trying to convey that.
Yea from a show perspective they were making it seem like a Perry Mason moment and I get it, but just from a "if I was on the jury" perspective I'd be thinking that they haven't proved anything. Not sure why they put the cop on the stand either.

I want to spoil this so bad. Obviously alot of folks haven't seen the movie.
Would be pretty dumb on their part imo if they ended it the same way as the movie.
I've never read the book but I would guess the movie ended the way the book did so they'd have to break away from the book as well though. Which normally isn't a good thing.

I've been enjoying it and caught up with it last night. Good show and I have not seen the movie so excited to see where it lands.
I really, really want to punch the Nico Della Guardia guy - he talks like a gay Bubba from Forrest Gump.

I read the book when it first came out - very good read.
And the movie generally followed the book.
I haven't seen the series yet but I would imagine that they could follow the same plot if they assume that most of the viewers never read the book.

I can't believe so many people didn't see a movie starring Harrison Ford, Brian Dennehy, Raul Julia, Bonnie Bedilia, Paul Winfield, hot Greta Scacchi directed by Alan J. Pakula. It was a no. 1 movie and made a lot of money.

It’s certainly more heavy on drama and big ah hah moments and oneups than a good law show. Both sides suck. Rusty is a pussy whipped pussy hound. Molto is that creepy office guy none of the women like.
Be curious if they stick with the book ending or have someone have done the deed.

But also no show has ever done a worse job at being completely unbelievable that a trial like this would actually even take place and have ZERO police investigation
O you are 100% right. I’m an attorney and clerked in State Court for a year after school. Sometimes it’s aggravating when they cram investigations and legal proceedings that would take well over a year to years into a couple weeks.
But, it’s every single show, and they would be boring as shite if they didn’t, so I just check it at the door.

mean he can't be that dumb. And they can't be that dumb to actually write that into the show. I mean Rusty should be on lock down and people would be watching his every move. Plus you would hope if he was the killer, he wouldn't be dumb enough to hold onto the murder weapon.
Ya think?
It's obvious he's not guilty from the episode 7 ending.
There's ZERO chance he was the one who did all that shite to Malto's house.
The next episode supposedly ties up some of the the loose ends and allegedly not the same ending as the book or previous movie.

No chance Rusty broke in, went through the papers, and left the poker. I’m also assuming it wasn’t the actual poker as surely that’s in some evidence police locker somewhere and would mean that basically only a cop could’ve done that. Can’t imagine how or what cop would have done that.
So, assuming it was just a random fire poke that someone bought as a symbol, I think it’s either Rusty’s kids or his wife.
The only other thing I can think of is that the dude Rusty beat up really was a part of it, and the dude in prison who organized everything did it, because we’re gonna find out somehow bringing that guy up allows Rusty to call him to the stand and he gets info out of him.
That’s my theory as I don’t have a clue what the wife or the kids doing it means.

If you remember he spent the previous night in the courthouse and I'm thinking someone at the courthouse must have known he wasn't going home and obviously gave them time to do all that shite to the house.

I’m not so sure.
1. It takes five seconds to google the ending to the book and movie. It doesn’t add a whole lot of mystery if a good chunk of viewers already know who did it.
2. Actors have said they didn’t know who the murderer was until they were given the script right before filming the final episode. Not sure they would have done this if they went with the same ending.

Crazy. Did Rick and Ilsa live happily ever after?

I mentioned in the other thread that I feel the killer is so blatantly obvious via two scenes (and someone confirmed that was in fact the killer in the book and original movie) that I suspect they deviate from original ending.

Movie was just about perfect. What's the point in remaking as a TV show?

Is the finale tonight or tomorrow?

Kumagai (medical examiner) did it & is setting Rusty up. All clues are there. He also would know how to tie the ropes. Has said F you numerous times & that is what note said on poker.

8 pm CST tonight is what some are saying but from what I can tell it's still scheduled for tomorrow.
I'll probably hop on tonight at 8 just in case and if not I can manage waiting one more night.

Interesting. I have been thinking it was one or both of the kids.. Have I overlooked something that clearly excludes the son and/or daughter?
Posted on 7/23/24 at 4:38 pm to BabysArmHoldingApple
I’m thinking the kids as well. Why else would the wife scrub down the bike and then throw it away?
Posted on 7/23/24 at 6:51 pm to txpurpleandgold
And the son was filmed near the victim’s house. The explanation seemed weak and too quickly accepted by everyone.
