Yeah, it says 2:00 AM. I thought they released them the night before like Apple does. Technically they both say Dec. 24th, but Apple will have theirs out at 8:00 PM Central. Guess I'll catch Fallout in the morning.

Yeah. I was hoping for more. We learned that one of the 11 has joined the hive. Also that there is some frequency that messed with them.
I figured they would have Carol's eggs. So Zosia still wants to turn her. Hopefully in a few years when this show returns they move at a faster pace. Not much really happened in 9 episodes.

They drug that ep out.
fricking Carol you fricking idiot.
They're going to convert you you dumb shite. Pussy is undefeated and she's ready to sacrifice the whole planet to get it. No better than Vegas dude at this point.
Now she realizes they're going to consume her and that's the only reason she's returning to trying to save the world.
Not sure how she's going to escape the gas this time because they can just chemtrail it again over Albuquerque and she's fricked.

I genuinely think they could have told the story to this point in 3 episodes. I don't need to see someone walking for 30 seconds every other scene.

I literally thought this over and over in the episode.
Carol - she didn’t even try to understand or listen to the guy. I didn’t expect her to actually give in fully. I thought it was a ruse to find out more, like she had a plan - I mean she underlined “They. Eat. People” just an episode or two back.
I kinda wanted to turn it off at one point but I’m already invested.

"they're not evil"
Wtf Carol. Seriously?
"We reverse it or we destroy them"
Exactly. Put the poor world out of their misery if you can't reverse it.
Para-guy better hold fast. He's already given away too much of his plan because of fricking Carol's antics.
I liked him better when he was hiding and eating dog food.
Carol finally grows a spine and it's to for a shotgun at the only other person who has a chance to save the world.

It's high quality, yes, but the flip side is that now we'll have to wait 2 years, or more, for the second season. We're getting fewer eps and much longer delays between seasons. I don't mind a slow burn and then some wait, but there are shows I've basically forgotten all about now that I was watching. Were they cancelled? Or still coming next summer. Or 2027?
Between the new stuff that randomly drops and the long delays for the shows I was already watching, it's hard to keep track of anything anymore. Oh, and they used to play reruns in the off season, but with streaming, I guess you can watch the old stuff any time. It's chaotic and disjointed.

Very high quality show but feels like it has more potential than it lived up to.
Season seems like a letdown, I don't know.

“I don’t think Pluribus is a mystery-box show,” Gilligan told Vulture after the finale, dispensing some wisdom he acquired while working on X-Files mythology episodes: “An ongoing mystery in a show that is indefinite versus finite, that is the hardest kind of show to do. You see that with X-Files, you see that with Lost. If you’re trying to go forever and you have an ongoing mystery—even before X-Files, I remember loving Twin Peaks and then went, Wait a minute, are we ever going to get answers for this thing?” “The lesson I learned is not how to do a better mystery-box show. The lesson I learned: Don’t do a mystery-box show. You may already know everything you need to know about Pluribus, in terms of mystery.”

The sci-fi material is merely a means to an end: Like the alien system itself, it’s a mechanism for bringing about the desired conditions. Although there’s a wide range of opinions on what Pluribus is “about,” it’s crafted to be a thought-provoking character study more so than a plot-delivery device.

I think it has a second season included and Gilligan wants maybe 4. Well we.
Also, it seems I’m listening to the wrong damn podcast. The one I posted above is not the official Apple podcast so that explains much. Maybe I’ll revisit the season that way if episode nine is worthwhile.

quote:above quotes from a very good recap on the ringer today
Pluribus isn’t appointment viewing in the same sense: it’s a more contemplative, and less propulsive, sort of series. Pluribus, Sepinwall writes, has “invited more speculation than Gilligan’s other series, as viewers keep trying to read nefarious motives into the Others’ actions, even though we know they are pathologically honest.”
That’s probably a recipe for short-term disappointment. Chekhov’s nuke may be sitting outside Carol’s house, but Hitchcock’s “bomb under the table” analogy barely applies to Pluribus, which rarely lets us see something Carol can’t. Complaints about the quiet parts of Pluribus, or the pace of its plot, may stem from a misconception about what type of TV it is, but for both better and worse, it’s unquestionably a slower burn than its mystery-box brethren.

Is this confirmed? Gilligan went into season 1 production with 2 already confirmed. Outside of Severance, Apple does well getting shows out regularly.

However, I do not see this as an "alien show" but as a study of the "human condition" so I dont find it too slow. I do understand while many would but to me this "A" list TV like BB and BCS.
By the way, was the complaint on BB and BCS that they started very slow as well?

when you ask Vince Gilligan how long it might be until we see a second season and find out why Carol wants an atom bomb in her driveway. “Longer than I would care for it to be,” he replies with a deep sigh, because the show takes a lot of time to get as precisely calibrated as his other shows—if not more, considering the scope of things. “It’s gonna be a while.”

I’m using two years as a general point of reference for most of these streaming shows. I think rings of power is three and everybody knows about Stranger Things. We’ve had four episodes have to wait a month and then four more. Hopefully it’ll be done for that show.

There was a lot of that criticism about BCS.

I found early seasons of BCS very slow, but if you watched BB it was easy to be patient because you had an idea where it was all going and could see pieces slowly coming together.
I think with Pluribus it’s a little more difficult because while it’s well made, I don’t find the story particularly compelling, and I’m not sure any of the possibilities of where it’s going are to me that interesting. I don’t see it ever going full alien invasion, just more of a character study of how Carol navigates this world. That’s interesting and I’ll keep watching, but plot wise this show just isn’t there for me.
