Sorry coco. yes those should have been subtitled on your screen.

I'm really digging this episode. Dude has a hell of a journey ahead of him but if the aliens are keeping the gas stations running he won't have to fear anything else driving to the US.

Love that he drives an old stick. Completely in character for him.

I wonder how he and Carol will get along.

Notice they ran the clock backwards for that scene so he's 3 days into the cross Continental trip already when she was in Vegas.

I felt for Carol on that last episode. She's at the end of her wits and is completely disgusted with French dude.

That's what radio man is thinking. He's trying to figure out if they're communicating with someone outside of earth.

Thank you! She's supposed to be able to dream up complex characters and subplots, but is so damn angry the she can't play the same game with the Hive folk? And yet this random guy who likes to party has no problem getting tons of information out of them, seemingly with little to no effort.

This show is really good but it needs to start picking up the pace a bit and raising the stakes to where there is a legitimate threat to the remaining survivors. I don’t need 3-4 seasons of the drama between these folks as they fly around the world.

she's angry and sloppy and she's going to frick up the Hispanic man's plans. He's not going to put up with her for long unless she can get out of her own way.

ETA what was up with the vacuuming scene? I missed something there.

yep the no killing of animals or people or messing with vegetables/fruit unless they fall off trees

I wonder if the hive starts to break down and demolish towns and buildings.

I took that scene to be her being weirded out by the Soylent Green powder she spilled on the floor? I'd have to rewatch, but that's how I took it.

I’m only a few episodes in… one of my biggest question to this point is why are they catering so much to the dozen people that didn’t convert? What’s the theory? I figure it has to do with the potential harm that Carol and the rest can do to them as their tantrums can kill so many with their spazz outs but they wouldn’t even be in harms way if they just ignored her like she wants.

I get they can’t harm the non-converts due to their collective nature or whatever but don’t get why they won’t just leave them be if they don’t want to interact

* Yeah, it was from the previous episode, where she dragged home a bag after tracking it down at the food planet that made the dog food.

Wonder if HDP will take on its own slang meaning. I bet the writers knew what they were doing.

this is an underrated take.

If/when Carol and the Hispanic dude figure out how to turn this off that French dude is going to be drawn quartered by all the women he raped or their husbands.

There's no gray area here. It's rape and there's going to be a reckoning.

I don’t agree that it’s rape at all. They are definitely consenting and intentionally choosing do it to make him happy, even if as a hive mind. The hive mind itself has free will, and it chooses to placate the 13. And the people aren’t people anymore (or aren’t themselves anymore)…they are all the hive.

They even sent Zosia to deal with Carol because they knew she would find her sexually attractive.

Oh he is putting in the “effort.” He almost got the cleaning lady involved with his “effort.”

The blonde card dealer, who we later see bottoms up at the jacuzzi . . . My oh my . . . anyway . . .

One of the things that I think VG is trying to develop as a theme is the irony of Carol's isolation. In life, she really had no one that she cared about other than her partner/manager. She shows disdain for her fans and her own work as an author. Once her partner dies, then Carol no longer has any ties to the human race. Ironically, she's the one fighting for humanity and its individuality despite her isolation. Simultaneously, most of the other 13 have loved ones who are still alive but assimilated into the hive mind. They're still connected to the body of those people, but they don't really care about the whole of humanity due to their ties to those individual's bodies.

N.B., the Hive Mind promised not to harvest stem cells “from her body”.

Is it possible they come up with a new way to harvest stem cells from spit or saliva?

But we now know that the end result of the virus will be death for humanity if not stopped. Humanity will be blissful and peaceful as it dies out, but it will die out. Which will then let the alien species colonize earth without any conflict.

Actually, as a result of the virus the individual hive members are hyper-competent at everything, with a compulsion to obey and please anyone who retains free will. Sort of an ideal situation for an alien invader.

I wonder if there will be any BB or BCS easter eggs besides the setting being in Albuquerque?

There has been at least one. The voice in the phone saying they need space is Howard Hamlin from Better Call Saul.
