i bet tons of people don't understand what the darien gap is or why its not navigable.
I don't. In my (very) brief research since this morning, I know it's a natural gap between the continents and is super think rainforest, along with illegal trafficking shite along it. That's about all I got.
No idea why someone hasn't put a road through it yet though (or bridge over it).

Hive mind John Cena isn't all that different from just John Cena.

My gf did say it had many meanings so the context of how he says it can matter. I thought that too but she said he could have meant it as his mother would not have let them do that to her. Basically, we would need more information on their relationship. If you Google cabrona meaning and not definition you will see

Watched episode 1 last night and found it interesting. I’ll keep watching.

"Who really killed JFK?"
I guess this sort of explains why they don't lie. Anything that involves deception or distortion of the truth represents a glitch in the matrix and a blockade to universal knowledge.
To use your JFK example. Lee Harvey Oswald is dead so there's no way to link his consciousness or memories. So let's say some random Person X told his son that he was in Dallas that day working for the CIA and he was the real shooter. He completely lied and made that story up but his son believes him 100%. Person X died several years ago but his son is still alive and was absorbed into the hive mind. Does the hive mind now think Person X was the real assassin? Do they reconcile that crumb with others left behind?
The point being they can't properly function in a web of lies so it would be counterproductive for them to allow that trait.

I think, through the collective, that any one narrative can be verified/debunked easily.

Anyone have thoughts to how her emotions are affecting them? It kills a lot of people but it seems like that is the way to stop them somehow

the 30 or so minutes in vegas were some of the best written TV i've ever seen. everything from the card game, the meeting with carol, the john cena video, the revelation that the other immune have been having twice weekly zoom calls (
) and that they voted not to include carol, the "major breaking news" that they can't infect anyone without consent...just spectacular narrative writing and acting. i thought this was the best episode yet and the cinematography of the whole series is incredible

I'm rewatching the Vegas scene now and yes it's fantastic.
fwiw from the dictionary:
Pluribus is a Latin word meaning "many" or "from many," most famously part of the U.S. motto "E Pluribus Unum" ("Out of many, one"), symbolizing unity from diversity, as seen on U.S. currency and the Great Seal. In the context of the Apple TV+ show Pluribus (stylized Plur1bus), it literally depicts humanity merging into a single, collective consciousness, exploring the tension between individuality and the group.

Her hometown was hit by a giant meteor that exploded in the atmosphere with the power of atomic bomb, and also had the second-worst nuclear incident in the world.
Damn. Apparently she is from Chelyabinsk, Russia.

Any thoughts on why Elvis suite guy watched Carol make her breakfast then mimicked the way she assembled her asparagus toast?
Posted on 12/11/25 at 9:31 am to SlimCharles140
He isn't American. Avocado toast is an American thing. He likely was familar with American breakfast food but not putting it in toast like that.

I am kind of digging how they make this show go from very climactic to totally anti-climactic in an instant.
We see her find something, we assume human remains and are right, and then wait a week and a half to see what happens with this climactic event and then in one second the African guy says, "yeah, we know. It's troublesome". Like boom, just snatched it away, but it wasn't in a bad way because we went straight into finding out a bunch of cool information we didn't know and maybe hadn't even thought about.

And this works for the weekly release schedule.
Imagine you were binging the show and saw Carol's face that ended episode 5. WHAT COULD IT BE?!!??!?! Five minutes later, you find out it's nothing.
It not only would cheapen the cliffhanger; it would be enough of a let down to harm the show's credibility.
But the week long wait instigated a ton of speculation and theories about what's going on. When the let down happened, it wasn't a huge crush because you might have guessed already that the others knew about it.

This part is odd. They infected the entire world and put the virus in everyone without consent.
but NOW they can't do anything to other humans without consent??

Tonight. 9pm Eastern.
"The Gap". As other posters said, probably the Darien Gap.
Something from the previous episode.
The first storage unit he's sawing open is 163. And the 1 and 6 are aligned but the 3 is offset.
So I'm thinking bible verse. Per Google- Proverbs 16:3 is the most popular 16:3 that is referenced.
