Haven't seen enough films from 2010 and 2013 to make an accurate judgment. I was torn between two movies this year. I really liked Three Billboards but I was utterly charmed by Lady Bird. It was a magical film that struck a chord with me.

If I were solely responsible for picking the film that wins Best Picture every single year, this is how I would have voted from 2000-Present.

2000: Gladiator
2001: The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
2002: Catch Me If You Can
2003: Mystic River
2004: The Aviator
2005: Munich
2006: United 93
2007: Charlie Wilson's War
2008: The Dark Knight
2009: Up
2010: Inception
2011: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part II
2012: Lincoln
2013: Gravity
2014: Whiplash
2015: The Martian
2016: Hacksaw Ridge
2017: Dunkirk

I guess Slumdog, but it was a disgrace WALL-E and The Dark Knight weren’t nominated. People will remember those for decades to come.

This was a good year... got to go with The Social Network edging out Toy Story 3 and The King’s Speech

Without question, although Inside Out and Ex Machina should have made it, with Ex Machina being the best film of the decade so far.

Great year for film, but Blade Runner 2049 and Coco should have also been nominated. Blade Runner 2049 is The Godfather Part II of Sci Fi.

It's pretty much the only year where I actually hated almost every Best Picture nominee. Hated.

Seen Hugo three times now. Easily the most agreeable movie.

Midnight in Paris I liked but it felt weak on second viewing. It's just light weight Woody Allen. Nothing special.

Hugo has some old school Hollywood magic and art to it.

Even worse than Tree of Life.

God that year was full of annoying movies that insulted you.

How was Gravity nominated for best picture in 2013 but Interstellar not in 2014? Gravity was a very simplistic movie, but caught on for whatever reason that year. Interstellar had some faults but much was a much better movie than Selma and American Sniper.
