I’m fine with it if it’s cheesy on purpose and if like, Michael Bay directs it. Or maybe not on second thought. But I do miss some occasional Michael Bay popcorn garbage. And that kind of fits Call of Duty.

And…..Michael Bay has a history with paramount. So maybe that will happen.

It could also be Joseph Kosinski. And that would actually give it some credibility.

The article for a call of duty movie is behind a paywall. Why is that so fricking hilarious? It says it all. Lol. Just one money grabbing steaming pile of unoriginal hot diarrhea

Will they be able to feature over-the-top masculinity like films of the 80s ala Rambo, Commando or Predator?

This movie will be the least woke ever if they stay true to the source material. 99% of the dialog is slurs.

It's official now

quote:

Activision and Paramount have inked a deal that will see the studio develop, produce and distribute a live-action film based on the game franchise, “designed to thrill its massive global fan base by delivering on the hallmarks of what fans love about the iconic series, while boldly expanding the franchise to entirely new audiences,” the companies said Tuesday morning.

Video game IP has become a prized asset for film and TV executives, with homegrown original franchises still hard to come by. Universal and Illumination have turned Nintendo’s Super Mario games into a billion-dollar film franchise, with the Japanese gaming company working with Sony to do the same for The Legend of Zelda. Sonic the Hedgehog is a hit for Paramount already, with films based on games like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Metal Gear Solid and Elden Ring also in line for film treatments in the next few years.

"As a lifelong fan of Call of Duty this is truly a dream come true,” Ellison said in a statement. “From the first Allied campaigns in the original Call of Duty, through Modern Warfare and Black Ops, I’ve spent countless hours playing this franchise that I absolutely love. Being entrusted by Activision and players worldwide to bring this extraordinary storytelling universe to the big screen is both an honor and a responsibility that we don’t take lightly.”

Metal Gear I thought would never actually happen without Kojima, but now that video game movies are becoming so popular, maybe it will. I didn’t see it on there, but Resident Evil is also coming. It will be nothing like the garbage cheap action movies that have come out for the series in the past. Zach Creggor will be directing and it will be legit.

Personally I think doing Metal Gear without Kojima is a big big mistake. This isn’t a Star Wars type of property. Its great for very specific reasons that only Kojima has produced. It’s not popular because of the subject matter. It’s popular because of Kojimas bizarre concepts. It would be like a different director trying to make a David Lynch movie. So we’ll see.

Slurs make scenes less woke?

“All Guillied Up” shot by the guy that did Maverick and F1? Okay, you’ve got me.

I just want to know if they have the balls to do the stories as is in the games. The bad guys are the bad guys. McTavish and Price being ruthless MFers.
