That moment of cringe reminded me of going to a local zydeco jam and seeing that one old lady who wants to get jiggy with it to impress the brothers.

The "In Memoriam" was terrible. Angela Bassett was just over acting a bad part, and the Stevie Wonder song was completely inappropriate.

Looks like they’re gonna let Chadwicks posthumous award be the send off for the broadcast

Nomadland wins best picture ... I will go shite in an orange Home Depot bucket in celebration

It’s all about the celebrities so makes sense they would end with the awards celebrating themselves instead of the “team” award for best picture.

I didn't see all of the best picture movies, but i did see some. Both Trial and Judas were mediocre. Minari and Sound of Metal were pretty good and I recommend them to y'all if you haven't seen them.

That’s shocking. It’s like they were building the entire show around his posthumous award, then Hopkins wins.

The only movie I’ve watched out of all of the nominees tonight is News of the World. Never even heard of Nomadland or The Father before tonight.

Yeah I’m pretty stunned. They swapped the order of the awards too to leave best actor and Chadwicks emotional tribute and then it’s like well it’s actually a no-show Anthony Hopkins. K bye!

I thought surely Boseman would win, and he really was a great actor.

The show overall was pretty weak. No humor or emotion, just a really disappointing show. They could blame covid restrictions, but the NFL pulled off an entirely virtual draft than the professional film folks did with this.

I've never been a fan of the oscars but I for some reason still watch, that was hands down the worst oscars ever. Yeesh.

It was so bad but I figured the best picture, actor, and actress would at least be decent.

Best picture: Frances Mcdormand howls.
Best actress: Frances Mcdormand says she's a sword and a sword his her work
Best actor: Joaquin Phoenix says thank you.
A total of about 30 seconds combined.

Live your life like Anthony Hopkins...win, but have better places to be on awards night.

have not seen a single nominated film this year, and I usually go out of my way to see as many as possible.

So you've actively avoided all the Pixar movies, the movies readily available through hbo, Hulu, Netflix, prime, disney+?

I'm confused. What award do you think you'll win by falsely feigning ignorance? Biggest unnecessary douchebag?

The Oscar ceremony has over-corrected to the point that this year it was not about film. I know that people have been bitching about this for years, with the political speeches, but tonight the actors and creators were an afterthought. The in-memoriam was shameful. Names and images flashing by in one and two second cuts. Tyler Perry’s speech was beautiful and inspiring. The rest of the heartfelt bleating was pointless and embarrassing. Whoever signed off on the name that tune skit should be shot.

Right. Nothing screams douchebag on TD like an informed opinion.
