Tuned into the Oscars pre-show for the 1st time in years and holy cow....now I know why I haven't watched it in years. I'm all for representation.... but after 30 minutes in, it's been 85% black. Heck, BET Awards has more "diversity" than these "awards". They are over doing it.

I never cared about the Oscars, but I would still watch to see which people/movies would win. Now I'll for sure never watch it again. It's fricking garbage. Nothing but narcissists patting themselves on the back, political statements, and unfunny jokes.

I normally don’t pay attention to the racial makeup of a production, but Jesus H.
Wife and I turned it on 10 minutes before for the pregame show. It was a black host talking to a black singer
Then the Oscars start, black host walks in, gives a statement about George Floyd, then talks about all the black nominees

These are the first Oscars I won't be watching in years. I didn't even realize they were this weekend until my sister told me last night. She lives in West Hollywood, and she said no one out there has really been talking about the show.
All award shows are on the verge of fading into obscurity like the major beauty pageants.

I have not seen a single nominated film this year, and I usually go out of my way to see as many as possible.
