I didn't go through the whole thread, but am I the only one who sees no reason at all to watch this in imax?

I agree. Not sure what would’ve been better other than maybe the landscapes and the explosion of the bomb.

Not like there were huge action scenes. I did feel like in the standard 70mm aspect ratio the tops and bottoms of the heads were cut off. I imagine seeing it in full imax would have had the heads totally in frame.

Ouch. You missed the most emotional part of the ending. I’d be pissed.

I started to get a little bored. Doesn’t mean it wasn’t great.

I’ll be calling fandango to get my money back.

ETA: the entire theater literally started laughing when this happened. So safe to say it ruined the ending if it was supposed to be darker and emotional.

No question. That is an ending we will be talking about for a while. I feel bad for you and those in the theater. That’s terrible luck.

I saw it in a normal theater and didn’t feel like I missed out on anything

We are seeing it tomorrow in regular digital as well. Doesn't seem like a movie where it really matters too much, but maybe I'm wrong.

I said it earlier in the thread but I felt dread.

Basically it's foreshadowing our eventual demise.

I walked out so convoluted and emotional. Then I let it marinade and was able to really piece and parse the movie together. It was so well done.

I’d like to see it again in about a month.

The sound. I haven't heard a film like this before. Plus the dialogue was absolutely perfection in the IMAX mix.

Just got out. That was an excellent film, but I do agree that it's far too long. That last act, while well made, dragged on for too long IMO. I started seeing a lot of people pulling their phones out to check the time.

I could have sat there for another 3 hours watching that movie.

But that’s probably more an indictment that we get so few great movies these days. Especially in the theater.

These things I really liked about the movie:
1. The director respects the audience and does not dumb down the movie. A lot of information and a lot of characters introduced at a fast pace.
2.There is a lot of grey area in the characters: people and life are not all black and white/ good or bad. Many faulted characters extremely well portrayed by the principal actors.
3.Members The post war Amercian communist party were characterized very well..explained very well...,ost mis-guided, but not evil.
4.Science, egos, power, conspiracy and Patriotism make a wonderful soup to dine on.

Not nearly as graphic as had been let on. The only real nudity is Florence Pugh's rack.

Couple of scenes of nude sex. Glad my 13 year old decided she didn’t want to see it. Wasn’t expecting Florence Pugh riding the dong - twice.

I was promised a 15 minute sex scene from behind showing Murphy's bunghole and I left disappointed

saw it in imax xenon today

sound hurt my ears at first, sound mixing was rough at times. very hard to understand dialogue

some of the actors looked too much alike and the fast cutting made it difficult to know who was who

thoroughly enjoyed the acting and story, was exceptionally well done

ego played a huge role in this film, nolan prsented that perfectly

Yeah, the cast was great. So many good actors who made their mark with very minimal screen time. Casey Affleck was outstanding.
