Murphy, RDJ, Damon, and Blunt were all fantastic in this. I think the first act is a little slow and could’ve been 15 minutes shorter but that’s really the only complaint I have. When Act 2 begins it picks up and is a great movie. Did anybody else have an older crowd in theaters? I don’t know if I’ve seen a movie with so many people in the audience over 60.

Came inyo the theater knowing only the bomb was detonated in the middle of the film and had no idea how they would fill out a other 1.5 hours. Not a Nolan fanboy at all. Turns out, I might have enjoyed the back half more than the front. Movie really picked up after the detonation which I wasn't expecting. Great movie. Worth seeing in the theater.
Wife turned to me after the Marvels trailer and said "This movie is like the WNBA, no on wants to see this shite."
And followed it with "They need to get back to putting shirtless Thor on the screen."
Exorcist looks creepy as hell
Meg2? Enough people saw Meg to justify a #2?!?!

I haven’t loved a movie ending like that in a long time.
It exceeded my expectations - Downey Jr. was spectacular
I just read that Nolan had his kids always crying as a metaphor to all the people crying because of the bombs.
I thought the score and sound design was spectacular- I think it was my favorite part of the experience
That was demonic. You have to be awful parents to but your daughters in that roles. They should have read up on the fates of the cast of the first exorcist
I’m not a prude I do wish those scenes could have been done without the nudity - it just wasn’t needed for the story and it gave it an R rating. I think it’s a movie everyone needs to see and that will stop some people from seeing it.

I enjoyed the back to back discussions about communism and then black holes. I know this wasn’t on purpose but I found it fitting due to communism being the economic equivalent of a black hole.

I believe we did What a fricking ending line and scene.
Our ending cut off when Einstein was speaking. How did it really end then? We all assumed it was a hard cut with no credits because it was the film version or something like that.
I am going to be so pissed if I found out we missed the ending of the movie.

I hope Truman wasn’t like this in real life, because I thought he came across as an arrogant prick.
Wrong. He was actually berating Oppenheimer for feeling guilty when the average American won’t have any idea what he contributed. And until this movie was probably still true. His feeling of martyrdom and the need to be one was a big theme towards the end too.
People blame these things on the presidents that make the decisions. Not the lab rats or the individual soldiers. (Generally). I think he was saying “you think you’ve got blood on your hands? How do you think I feel?”
And then called him a crybaby and never to see him again. Which is a direct quote from Truman.

This was one of the better theater experiences IV had in a while. Saw it in IMAX and theater just had a buzz that I haven't felt in a long long time.
Different than even top Gun Maverick, which was filled with wholesome nostalgia. This one had. An edge because no one knew what to expect.
There were also all kinds in the theater watching.
Indians (dot), Latino, black, white, old, young, couples, groups, middle aged... It was all there.
This was truly a ring back to what made movies magical.
Overall. The movie is simply too long. There needed to be at least 20-30 mins cut out of the early years and the third act intyerigation, but the middle, once Damon hits the screen, was as thrilling and well done as any film I've seen in a long long time.
There were moments that I felt like my jaw was on the floor. Fleeting clips that were such high level filmmaking, but then there were also the typical Nolan tropes of erradicism and self-indulgence and incoherence, but there was enough of the good stuff to balance out.
In all, this would have been one of the best 2hr 20 min films ever made. I stead it was a meandering 3+ hr genius semi mess.
. I'm glad I saw it in Imax. The sound as out of this world good.
The acting was also the best I have seen in, well I can't think of.
Oscar nods/wins should easily go to Murphy, RDJ, Blunt and Damon... Plus the following categories:
Directing
Editing
Screenplay
Cinematography
Score
Sound mixing
Sound design
Costume design
Art Direction
Set design
Visual effects
This will probably clearly be the best film of thebeyar, even despite its flaws.

During the previews, I decided to go to the bathroom one last time since it’s such a long movie. Apparently, I was very lucky to miss this exorcist trailer everyone is talking about.

I totally agree. So much so that it’s the first thing my wife and I talked about once we got in the car. We would love to take her daughter to see the movie, but just no way it would be appropriate. I was sitting next to a girl who may have been 15 or 16. Well, she sat next to her parents, and it was quite uncomfortable.

Very good movie. Sound effects were too much a few times, but forgiven.

It wasn't really that graphic in the end. I guarantee you the younger generations have seen way more graphic.

Did anyone else come out not knowing if they should feel super depressed or super excited to live their life? Maybe it was the edible.

They put the nudity and sex in your face, just like it was in kitty’s face (and then they quite literally showed how in her face it was). Longer scene of them chatting while she’s topless helps reinforce how casual he was about it (and in turn other affairs, etc) Then despite all of that, kitty still fought for him when he wouldn’t. Not that any filmmaker needs justification for showing tits, but if they did I think he’s covered here.
Perfect analysis. It wasn’t for the story but for Kitty’s arc and to further expound upon Oppenheimer’s lassies faire attitude about it, and more importantly any allegiance he had to Kitty.

Didn't expect the loudest scene of the movie to be when they were stomping on the bleachers
What is emotionally louder? Nolan crushed it.

Einstein telling him that one day they will pin a medal on him and that’s how you know they will be done with you and ready to move on was poignant.
He served as ballast and hit perfectly.

About as unsettling a trailer as I’ve ever seen. Not sure why people would want to make a movie like that.

They've watched Euphoria, this is nothing compared to that.
