Shouldn't you be in one of the Disney threads anyways, melting about Disney princesses?

Some of you ppl make me wonder how you even operate in life.

You have issues.

First off I am in a Disney related thread.

You're in a Rian Johnson thread.

No Disney princesses here. What do your "women" think of that obsession of yours?

OK, I guess any Disney Director isn’t Disney related.

I’ve told her I think Ariel is a spoiled whore and she agrees.

I'd agree with that. If it's not TLJ, it's bitching about Black Panther winning awards.

For starters, they used kamikaze attacks prior to the United States even entering the war.
Kamikaze units were not formed until 1944

Suicide attacks from fatally damaged or ammo-less planes were not the same as Kamikaze attacks. . .and those were done by pretty much every military with planes.

Kamikaze units were put together and outfitted to be MASSIVE guided missiles, and began in 44, after it was clear that Japan was at the end of her rope.

Considering Japanese culture and their views on defeat, this had much more to do with their views on honor and duty than them believing this to be a winning tactic.
It was desperation.

No different than the tragic and pointless 300 Spartans being sent to their death. And yeah, the movie makes it seem like they accomplished something, but they assuredly died for nothing.

When you are desperate, you do desperate things.

So? Kamikaze attacks were happening prior to that.

Nope.

Kamikaze, any of the Japanese pilots who in World War II made deliberate suicidal crashes into enemy targets, usually ships.

The formation of units doesn't negate the origins of their tactics.

Neat.

That doesn't change anything I said.

Suicide attacks=/=Kamikaze attacks

But I am assuming you knew that?

Jim Howard received the Medal of Honor for it.

Cuckeye is right, though, on this rare occasion. The hyperspace thing is definitely a lesser issue. The only thing I hated about it was that SJW Dern stole what I'll bet was originally supposed to be Admiral Ackbar's glorious death. That would have been awesome, and I doubt anyone would have complained. As it was, he was just shouting like a bitch in the background.

Exactly my thoughts on it.

Dern's character felt forced. I didn't really even mind that it wasnt Ackbar given Johnson's theme of ignoring expectations, but it seemed like her character was put into the movie just so Ackbar wasn't the one to make that sacrifice.

TLJ made everybody retarded. It was a decent run-of the-mill sci fi movie that would’ve made 300 mil and would’ve been forgotten in a week had it not had “Star Wars” in front of it.

The worst part about TLJ is how since superhero movies are so popular now they tried to fill TLJ up with that stupid gay arse childish humor and jokes they have every 5 minutes in superhero movies.

Yep.

So much wrong with that film that we forget things like this bs.

Nothing has weight because it's all delivered with a joke.

Is there really a debate on whether it was good or bad? Wow. Thought it was pretty obvious.

They tried to make Guardians of the Galaxy: Star Wars.

They ended up with a 21st century version of space balls.

Suicide attacks? Probably from the first cave-parent who charged a bear to buy his kids time to escape, or some such

I read articles all the time how great the film is and what it added to the franchise.

The film killed Star Wars for the fans. So you are left with ppl who enjoyed that aren't fans. I also think those ppl who enjoyed it are not being honest.

No sir, space balls is clever. This was bad comedy.

I actually agree with buckeye on the hyperspace suicide attack.

While it is a moronic plot device, it is way down on the list of problems involving this movie.

At least, for a split second, that scene was visually stunning when the movie went silent.

There was also the bonus that it killed off Dr. Sattler.
