So the President just shows up and Rainwater doesn't have a clue. No friends to tip him off???
And.......Presidents don't just "show up". The SS preps for these things for weeks if not months in advance.

What are some real Cowboy ways to die? I think getting shot in a drunken bar fight would be good. Or maybe trampled in a cattle stampede.

Truly the laziest written show on television.
I’m firmly in the camp of hate watching it now.
What they’ve done with Kacey’s character is absolutely fricking criminal. He’s easily the best of the Duttons and the fact that they’ve written him into a marginal character drives me crazy.
Also, Beth is the shittiest, most unbelievable character on fricking television. One of the worst in history. Just to prove how strong of a woman is in this previous episode, they made her all of a sudden a great horse rider and professional at cowboying when she’s hardly ever spent much time on the former and definitely hasn’t ever done the latter.
She absolutely hates the ranch, couldn’t care less what happens to it, yet we expect her to be the big baddie that’s going to save it??
Hope I get to watch cirrhosis of the liver take that raging bitch slowly and painfully.

Honestly it may not be. They definitely don’t want to cast some as the president, and decide if they want to actually have it be Trump/Biden (they did mention Obama by name), or come up with a fake person for the show’s universe. It was just a plot device to show that Rainwater has threats inside the tribe.

Agreed. If you remember, she hasn’t ridden a horse since she was blamed for her mothers death because she wouldn’t open that frickin gate. They made it a point early on to drive home that she hates horses, hates the ranch, hates cowboying.. now she all but forces herself into the roundup when it was very clear Rip didn’t want her to go. Hell, she was cutting a calf at one point!
I guess she got over her fear and hatred of horses during last season’s break!

Sort of agree. I've come to hate watch the show now, too. But I did read somewhere (on TD?) that the actor's dad died in real life and he wasn't on set as much for this season.
I did notice this week that his big scenes were with just his son and maybe his father. The sort of thing you would do if you had limited time with the actor.
When they were doing the "cowboy" stuff I didn't notice him around. Did I just miss him?
My only hope is there is a plan for him going forward. He was my favorite character and the best chance, with Rip, for a character to believably go HAM on bad guys.

SS does it themselves in cooperation with local authorities. Presidents just don’t show up anywhere. I used to work in Al Gore’s hometown at the hospital. SS checked out my office in advance in case he ever had to come there.

Same here and it really wasn’t even close. As I said in my previous post, he’s the best of the Duttons. Hopefully his character starts getting more screen time.
