I'm curious about this other group that has taken in Morgan & Carol.

There's no way Rick would've sat there and let it be Carl. No chance in hell

It's either Michon or...???

Group is split up badly enough and continues to split more and more. Dumb.
This is going to be worse than Pre-Terminus season, where people are scattered to Hell and gone all season again. Carol/Morgan with the NKOTB/Duke LaCrosse team, Rick & CO headed towards the Hilltop (sans one,) the Warrior Monk running shite at Ellick, back story Negan development... frick.

oh God I hope we aren't going back to shellshocked rick answering the phone calls of ghosts

My guess is Eugene. He gave up his secret bullet making recipe to Rick.

So am I. Very much so actually.
I do like how the show has gradually introduced more and more groups as the series progresses. In the beginning, we were constantly wondering if they would ever find anyone else. Now groups just spring up all over the place. Unfortunately, I think it takes away from the walkers some, and I wish they would get back to making them a focal point of the show.

Oh and Carol's dumbarse needs to come back down to Earth, not sure what the hell she has going on.
The whole Carol storyline is awful and makes no sense. It demonstrates one of the shows major shortcomings - characters acting out of character purely for plot reasons. They could have made her turn weak, but that would have taken planning and dedicated writing. Instead, they just flip the 'crazy' switch.

Rick, because he's the leader. And he talked about Carl before doing it.
It's not Rick or Carl
Right before Negan swung the bat he said "if anybody moves, cut the boys other eye out and feed it to his father."
to me, that implies it is not either of them.

If Maggie's condition deteriorated that quickly (~1 hour), she doesn't have long to live. Period.

Amazing. I thought it was one of the best. Incredible intensity and build up of total hopelessness. You could literally feel Ricks desperation building and his arrogance draining away with each increasing road block. It was palpable.
They were literally sheep led to the slaughter. The reveal of just how powerful and bloodthirsty Negan and the Saviors are was incredible.
I liked the episode as well. The juxtaposition of Rick at the beginning with his cocky smirk and "I've got a deal for them" to the end when he realizes what a mistake he has made and how desperate he looks was awesome. The growing build up of hopelessness was entertaining to me.
I also didn't mind not knowing who Negan chose to kill. Sure it creates a lot of cheap buzz for the show (this is after all a for profit venture), but it's also pretty good drama in its own right. I'm surprised people are so upset over the cliff hanger. I mean its one of the most commonly used, effective, and entertaining dramatic devices used throughout this history of literature and theater.

Absolutely fantastic episode. Great job of slowly building tension for the entire episode to the point where it was hard to breath the last few minutes. No problem with the cliff hanger.
LOL at all the folks saying they're done. I mean sure, this bitch may have left you with a raging case of blue-balls, but when she calls you up next October you're still gonna go out with her again.

Read the rest of the post. He would name someone before letting them kill Carl.

Can't wait to find out who died when the actor gets cast in another show

Have you been watching the show? Because they've been explaining what's going on with her character.
TWD is character and plot developed and sometimes moves quickly and other times slowly. Last night was brilliant in its emotional breakdown of Rick from believing he was arrogantly in control of the situation to totally lost and hopeless. The progression and emotional intensity was incredible. We can debate about the cliffhanger but the rest of the show IMO was awesome.

Does anyone think that Enid had something to do with this?
I read a theory where Enid is feeding the saviors information and that she gave Maggie a jar of poisoned pickles and this is how the saviors knew that the group would be traveling to the hilltop. Could also explain why she was so concerned with Carl leaving.
I feel like there is just a universal distrust of Enid and anytime something goes wrong people will think that Enid was somehow behind it all. This happened already with the wolves and as far as we know she had nothing to do with that.

I am torn on last night's episode. It was great for an episode of TWD, but terrible for a season finale.
It was a little frustrating that Rick and company didn't figure out that every single road was blocked, and they kept burning gas and trying different ways while the Saviors were clearly in control the entire time. I know they wanted to get Maggie to the Hilltop, but at some point you have to know that you're just lambs going to slaughter and figure out something else. Rick was also pretty sloppy, but I guess that ties into the whole "too arrogant and learning his lesson" angle that I've seen a few people mention.
As for who died, my brain tells me it was Aaron since he's the only one not in the "main" cast. But my gut says Glenn or Darryl...Glenn because I feel like he's been needing to go for a while now, and Darryl because he's had run-ins with these people before and deserves payback (in Negan's eyes). I dug Negan, but man that monologue dragged on about 3 times longer than it should have...that was nothing more than a time-waster. I felt like almost nothing happened in an episode that was 50% longer than normal.
I also love how almost literally everybody abandoned Alexandria, which is the best place to defend themselves, and especially when they are expecting an attack.
All in all, this would've been a fantastic episode if it was last week or the week before. But it was pretty weak and a pretty shitty copout for the season finale IMO. And from what I read of the thread, most seem to sort of agree with that. But just because it was disappointing doesn't mean I'm gonna quit the show...I love the show. So I don't get that sentiment from people in here who are jumping ship.

I generally agree with this, but the excess of commercials, and the timing of them really hurt the episode by breaking up any buildup of tension or momentum. It was hard to get sucked into the desperate when every 7 minutes we had to stop for a 6 minute commercial break.

Don't disagree with this. I can't bring myself to not watch live though. Haha.
