Nothing out there is scary to me anymore. People said try talk to me. Wasn’t scary. Or try weapons. Was actually hilarious. No one knows how to make scary movies anymore.

What do you consider a scary movie?

Setting a personal goal of 31 horror movies I’ve never seen in 31 days. I don’t know if this is realistic but Imma try. Just added the Criterion Channel.

I do not know if I could stomach 31 ones I haven't seen. Too much shite

But there are a few on Criterion (and HBO) I need to watch. Lots of old Japanese horror.

I know a guy that's a sucker for the hocus pocus movies....also he wanted me to mention monster squad as a great movie, and wolfman is none other than Texas longhorn quarterback uncle rico....who was also in an episode of Seinfeld. (The one where Elaine threw George's toupee out of the window and it landed in the hobos lap, that hobo was uncle rico.

Bring Her Back comes to Max on 10/3.

I watched this yesterday on Max, I hadn’t even watched a preview of it before and I think it’s was worth a watch. I’m glad I watched it alone because my wife would have never finished the movie with me.

Top of my list for this year is to revisit 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later before giving 28 Years Later a first watch.

Watched V/H/S Horror on Shudder. The "Fun Size" segment was easily the best. Not really scary, just lots of fun with a unique premise. "Coochie Coochie Coo" was the scariest segment and was really good overall. Two other segments were pretty good, and there were two that were either boring or just bad.

Night of the Reaper is another Shudder original that is a recent release that I really enjoyed. Not going to give any info on the movie, but I really enjoyed it. Its not the scariest movie. I just enjoyed the story.

Is that the latest iteration of the VHS series? I think I gave up after the third one because they just got so bad and so stupid. It was like the directors weren’t even trying anymore.

They're more miss than hit, but Viral (the 3rd one) is the worst one by far, and it followed the best by far (2)

Give Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein a shot. It's 1950s classic comedy with Bela Lugosi and Lon Chaney Jr. too. It holds up well and is a good alternative for people who have outgrown getting scared by horror flicks.

I think living through the Halloween, Friday 13, Nightmare, Chainsaw era has a lot to do with what seems scary now.

I love House of 100 Corpses and Devil's Rejects. But, those are more gore than scary.

It is actually called V/H/S Halloween and, yes, better than the last 2 for sure.

Also, I agree with Night of the Reaper. Set in the 80's. Pretty good for what it was.

I watched Wolf Man Saturday night on Prime and liked it much more than I expected to.

The Dark and the Wicked is one of the scarier movies I've seen the last few years.

The Terrifier series.

Terrifier 1 & 2 are free on tubi.com. So is Hallows' Eve.

Terrifier 3 is free on m4uhd.

The Town That Dreaded Sundown

The original 1976 version is pretty good. It's also free on tubi.com. So is the 2014 remake.

If you use Firefox on tubi.com, it will remove the ads. m4uhd has an ad or two you have to watch before the movie.
