Searched for this one last night and it's available on Plex and Tubi (both free). I may give it a shot tonight.

If you get bored, watch "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things" and let me know what you think.
It's a really old 70s zombie movie.
I probably should not have seen this at 10 yrs old. But, i had an older married sister who took us to a lot of movies we should not have seen.
ETA: Looks like it's actually free on Youtube.

Black Water (2007) is one of my favorite creature horrors. Black Water Abyss (2020) isn’t quite as good but a worthy watch if you’re a fan of the genre. One of a few Australian gems, along with The Reef.

Watched Frailty last night. It was better than I remembered. They screwed up the twist by talking about it rather than showing it. Could have been so much more impactful. McConaughey and Paxton both really good.

I watched Blacula for the first time. Ridiculous title aside, it's not a bad movie at all. Sure, it's low budget, but the plot moves quickly, and there is a lot of action.

Just finished this one. I borderline hated it. It would’ve been a lot better if they hadn’t relied on pitch black darkness and the smallest pin-sized flashlight ever. But it was all over the place with the hectic moving camera and obnoxious loud noises. I get that it’s supposed to be disorienting, but Jesus. You couldn’t even tell what was going on most of the time. It was just pitch black, loud noises, and people screaming. Over and over. And over. And fricking over.
I liked the premise for the most part, but the execution was terrible. Obviously it was low budget, but still. You have to show the audience a little more than what was shown. I think this may have been a good bit better had it not been in the found-footage genre.
Spoilers.
And the whole “the axe killer was actually him in sort of a time loop” angle was a little too obvious for my liking. And the self mutilation part at the end was just dumb and unnecessary. I’ve always said that gore purely for gore’s sake doesn’t do anything for me at all.

I watched it because the poster had called it a mind frick of a movie. And I like those sometimes, but only if they're good.
But for a mindfrick sort of movie that is actually good, I'd recommend Incident in a Ghostland. I watched it a few months back on recommendation from this board, and thought it was pretty good. Plus it is a different type of horror movie, and one where the horror/fear isn't the normal type of stuff. A word of warning though: it's pretty fricking brutal/violent.

What platform is it streaming?

Per JustWatch it’s maybe free on Tubi and for rent on AppleTV.
IIRC I watched it on Tubi. Which has commercials, so that sucks, but it’s all I had.

Just finished The Fog (original film), such a great Carpenter classic

Watched The Changeling and Deep Red the last couple of nights. Neither are really horror. Deep Red was pretty good though. More of a serial killer mystery type story. Music was excellent.

If you want a killer zombie movie, check out The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue.
Such a fun 70s Italian flick. You’ll love it!

Wes Craven, 1988
For laughs, Deadly Friend. 1986. The basketball face smash.

I may get into a zombie kick soon. May try to watch Dawn of the Dead, Land of the Dead, and Day of the Dead and their respective remakes (of which I believe I've seen all three). Or should I just skip the originals? ETA: Or I guess Land (2005) isn't a remake, but just another zombie movie from Romero.
I did a podcast interview that came out about a week where I had to list my five favorite zombie movies that were not directed by Romero.
My favorite five were:
1. Return of the Living Dead
2. Shaun of the Dead
3. Train to Busan
4. Zombie
5. World War Z
I had a bunch of HM’s as well. Good time.
I’ll be doing another one soon where I have to discuss my favorite found footage horror movies.

Watched “When Evil Lurks” on Shudder tonight and damn was that a dark but excellent movie.

Five Nights at Freddy's may be out right now, but if you wanted a good primer, check out The Banana Splits Movie. It's a darker, scarier version.

After listening to the latest episode of the Evolution of Horror, I highly suggest a B2B offering of the Invitation (2015) and Speak no Evil.

I’m surprised you like this one. I thought it was very meh and super disappointing having read the book.

The Invitation is excellent. Loved that one. Watch it a few years ago.
