Do we get a Gus cameo soon?
They'd probably save something like that for a season finale.

In an AMA on reddit, Aaron Paul hinted at a possible cameo this season for Jesse. He was very cryptic and noncommittal about it though.

I feel bad for jimmy
Jimmy is like Walter White -- he got a situation that was perfect for him, and his pride is going to dick it up. Walter got offered that good job with Grey Matter that had Cadillac health insurance and he turned it down to make meth.
Jimmy has a good gig with this law firm, a Mercedes as a company car and he's involved with a nice woman, and he's gonna screw it all up because he's got to rebel against shite.

Isn't there was a connection to Hector Salamanca's immediate family and Gus with the Tequila/pool incident.

IIRC, someone with the show involved (VG?) said they didn't want to force too many BB characters/elements into BCS. However, Vince and his team are good enough that they can make it happen without it being forced.

The sound got his attention, but he clearly did not react like they were gun shots. He was waiting all night for something to happen, then hears a noise and pulls his gun to be ready. If he thought they were gun shots then he would have hit the deck or at least ducked under the door frame.
The presumed shots weren't loud and close or frequent enough for him to take cover and miss out on identifying their source, but they certainly snapped him to attention, and when he finally saw the car headlights in his rear-view mirror, he drew his gun and prepared for it to pass by. If he didn't think they could have been gunshots, he wouldn't have reacted that way. I expect he started to question things more and more as the car slowly approached and regularly made those noises, but he didn't ease down until he saw that it was newspapers, and then he smirked at himself, gun in hand, for having been fooled.

Wasn't Tuco already dead when Gus arrived on BB, but Gus was bitter enemies with Tucos grandfather/uncle, right? (The old dude that walt helped blow him up)
At some point they were all part of the same Cartel which Gus was at the top level of his faction, until he killed that dude and all his chapos with some $50 per shot Tequila and took over the whole thing.
Tuco would have been at a lower level...

IIRC Gus and his guy initially approached Don Eladio for permission/$ backing to start up a meth operation as the cartels were primarily moving weed and coke.
I'd have to go back and rewatch the BB episode but I think they killed Gus' partner on principle alone and because of Gus' connections he was spared and Gus went at it alone and started mining for chemistry prodigies with his scholarship program that produced Gale.
Good Old Boy networks don't like to mess with an established good thing. It's a doomed if you do and doomed if you don't situation if you want to introduce something that could impact the established way of doing biz. Regardless if you're trying to be respectful and operate through the commad chain.
I'm not sure that BB ever answered exactly how Gus got his empire off the ground, not sure it mattered to that show's story arc anyway. It's hard to pinpoint the beginning of the timeline in BCS and where it syncs to the BB timeline. I think Mike is still driving the brown Chrysler in BB.
I don't try to mesh the two together. Better Call Saul is a great show on it's own. I remember the rumors that it would be a 1/2 hour comedy. I'm really glad they went with the approach they did because they're really good at hour long episodic drama.

It would be intersting to see how Saul came to know of Gus and how Saul protected Gus' organization.
I don't think Saul knew Gus ... at least til all the shite hit the fan in BB.
Remember, Saul told Walter: "I don't know him. I told you, I called a guy, who called a guy, who called another guy."

With odenkirk I'm sure it'd be alright, but man I'm glad they didn't do this.

I think you guys are wrong about Stacey trying to play Mike. I think she believes it herself, and she's paranoid and twitchy due to the fact that her husband was recently murdered by dirty cops. Mike knows the score but is going along with it to give her peace of mind.
If she was just trying to get more money out of him, she could have just asked. It's firmly established that he'll do anything for her.

It's unbelievable to me that you think Mike could confuse newspaper hitting the ground for gunshots. A car was approaching slowly in the wee hours of the night. That's all that alarmed him. He was relieved when the newspaper hit the ground and he realized it wasn't a drive by.
Now I know how NFL referees can look at a replay and go completely against what the video evidence shows. Sometimes people just can't look past their first impulse.

I agree it was ridiculous; I said so in my very first post on the subject. All I have to add to my most recent post is to note the forboding music that began to play as Mike snapped to attention, drew his gun, and waited for the newspaper deliveryman. That music was not just for our benefit, but to illustrate his state of mind.
The scene spoke for itself, and it only became more clear the several times I watched it. In particular, that first distant plop was ridiculously suggestive. The end explanation was about as believable as the BB magnets farce, but hey, there it was. That said, I liked BB a helluva lot more than this mediocre show, so I was a lot more forgiving of it.

Disagree.
Her reaction after he says he's gonna get them outta there says otherwise.
This debate on gunshot/newspaper is ridiculous.
Mike was tired, half asleep. Car comes creeping up, he pulls his gun just in case. Once he sees it's just the newspaper, he puts it back up.
When she shows him the "bullet hole," his reaction says that she's full of shite. But he also knows, that she would hold his granddaughter over his head, more than likely. Hes bad arse elsewhere, but when it comes to his granddaughter, he's obviously going to do what it takes to be around her.
