True, but it wouldn't have been a hard sell to explain that he was concerned and then put her mind at ease by telling her about the newspapers, which fooled him, for chrissakes. He doesn't want to risk even that small chance of conflict.

Mike doesn't seem like the type to become anyone's bitch.
Well, he did relocate to New Mexico to be near his granddaughter. The fear of not being near her (the only thing left in life that he loves) could make a man do some weird shite he normally wouldn't.

I'm sure he has a plan.
Very likely as well.

Good thing he watched the house all night. Because now he knows she is either a liar or crazier than a shithouse rat.

Nope, it was the sound of newspaper hitting the concrete that got his attention.

yeaaaahhhhhhh I don't think so.

It's like 3am and he sees a car pull down the deserted street towards the house, so he becomes on high alert and draws his gun at the ready.

Showing the newspaper hit the pavement is for the viewer's benefit only to show us who that car is. I assure you the character Mike as we know him to be written so far would not confuse thin arse newspaper falling onto concrete with a gunshot.

What I don't really get is why Jimmy was so afraid to show it to Cliff. I guess because he saw what the old commercial looked like and realized how conservative the partners would want to make the Sandpiper commercial. Regardless, he is a dumbfrick for thinking this won't get back to Kim.
This is why I said he's pissing me off. What he's doing is getting ridiculous.

It's because deep down he wants out. So he knows shite will hit the fan regardless of whether the commercial works or not.

You clipped the immediately following sentence that refuted what you just said. Why would you do that?

Yet he clearly did. Rewatch the scene like I suggested.

BTW, my explanation of the newspaper scene gives the writers a lot more credit than you are doing. If you are right, there was no point whatsoever to have the car deliver newspapers that sound like gunshots except to be a cheap head-fake that served no purpose.

Because cliff wasn't there. At the end of their convo didn't cliff say something like "let's talk about it next week when I get back"? I took that to mean that the filming and airing of the commercial was done while he was out, and he didn't even know about it until he returned to the office.

While I understand the anger in Jimmy and yes, he got screwed over--this episode reveals that Jimmy brought a lot of this on himself.

I still dislike Chuck, but now see there is some truth in his statement, "You're still Slippin' Jimmy."

I was on pins and needles during the final scene. After the vet said, "this is a next-level job" and Mike went to meet his potential employer ... I just knew Gus Fring was going to step out of the shadows.

I was so disappointed when it was Nacho. Lol.

By the time Jimmy is bringing the video to Cliff, he has returned. There's no mistaking the sound of Cliff playing his guitar that Jimmy stops at and turns around after hearing it.

I either need to pay more attention or watch dumber shows, apparently. I'm lost all over the place.

Yep. He had the tape of the commercial in his hand and turned around. I believe he went to his office and that's when he called the TV station about getting it on TV. He almost did the right thing, but then thought better of it

no offense, but this show isn't hard to follow. It's pretty straight forward. You're coherent on the internet, so my guess is you should pay more attention.

In my defense, I didn't get to watch last night so I got up early and watched it first thing this morning before work. Guess maybe I need to take another stab at it.

*For all the opinions of this episode I said ITT, just disregard all of them.

I'm not "lost" exactly, it's just quite clear that there were some things that I just completely didn't catch. I probably just need to go back and watch again.

But I appreciate your kindness road. Very out of character for you.

I guaran-damn-tee you, the character Mike, the way he has been written in BB and BCS, did NOT think those newspapers hitting pavement were gun shots. He might not have been sure what it was at first and of course drew his gun.

That does not mean at all he thought the sound was "gunshots." Hell, I wondered what they were, but I knew they weren't gunshots.

I guess that's why Mike gave a sort of exasperated smirk of relief when the car drove by, and he saw it was dropping off newspapers instead of popping off rounds.
