Anyone else think the girl power moment was a direct FU to all the backlash of TLJ?

Playing to their base. Same with the Wakandans being first to return. I don't care, those moments weren't for me.

Hulk holding up a mountain, Ant-Man and Wasp side by side with the Avengers, Cap arming himself with Mjolnir and his shield, Valkyrie flying in on Aragorn... those were the bells they rang to make comic fans salivate like Pavlov's dog.

So at the beginning of the film when they find Thanos, he had used the gauntlet and snapped again causing it to blow up on him?

What did he use that snap on? To wipe out another planet? I missed that part.

I don’t get any anger at the woman power scene, they epically failed and got the van destroyed. They fricked things up.

My only real complaint is that I didn’t like Thanos dying early in the film.

I wanted the Avengers to reverse the snap and defeat THAT Thanos, not the 2014 version who got caught up with Nebula’s sparknotes.

It just put a sort of funk over the last battle for me, because this wasn’t the Thanos who went through the IW events and, for example, would’ve remembered Scarlet Witch.

They could’ve gotten their asses beat by Thanos in the beginning, gone back to Eath and went through their plan all the same. I don’t know, I guess that’s the only thing that irked me in an otherwise fantastic culminating event.

I thought it was really good. Even tho I read the spoilers it absolutely didn’t take away form the emotional response from the movie.

I didnt think it felt too forced at all. If anything, I could have used another 90 seconds of Scarlet Witch losing her composure and slaughtering dogs.

Then the question should s why would Thanos leave them alive after that encounter? Would he kick their arse then they just say well when you win this one, hop back on the benatar, and start a new plan?

1.) His first snap didnt just wipe out half of Earf, it wiped out half of the entire universe. There wasn't other planet to wipe out.

2.) He used his second snap to destroy the stones themselves. He said they were too much of a temptation.

I don’t know how I feel about it yet.

After the development of Hulk in Ragnorok and IW, they suddenly throw it out and basically replace him with green more durable Banner? You don’t really see a merger of personalities here.

And we don’t even see the process?

Just poof?

This was the only real issue I had about the movie. It felt like Ragnarok and IW was setting up some type of huge Come-To-Jesus moment for Hulk/Banner and then it turns out that it got settled off screen.

Just got out. Loved Cap picking up the hammer and start wrecking shite. "I knew it"- the Dude Thor makes you think in AoU he could have picked it up but wasn't wanting to showboat?

Missed opportunities: Hulk vs Thanos round 2.
Was also disappointed in the ease in which a gauntletless Thanos dispatches adversaries. Yes, it's let go of himself Thor, but getting fricked up with both the hammer AND Stormbreaker seems a stretch. Meh, it's make believe.

Also, the girl power sceane. My head hurts from how they over did that.

Score: A-

ETA: totally got me, and half the theater, waiting for an end credits scene. Haha. I would have been happy with at least another tongue in cheek Cap America psa albeit as gramps Cap. Or maybe the new Avengers team eating schwarma

I wonder who the old actor was who played Old Steve. He was really good.

I worry that retcons Steve’s part in the last 12-17 years of being in the Avengers. Almost like he never came back. But Sam and Bucky didn’t forget him so I’m hoping everyone else remembers him too and what he did.

ETA: Damn, it’s going to be tough seeing any cameos by RDJ now.

Unfortunately I had a damn loud crowd. Saw it in IMAX and theater was pack. THere were gasp of excitement when BP and crew showed up but the loudest that seem to shake my theater was when Captain Marvel showed up and own Thanos ship.

THere were mostly girly scream and some loud yells by half of the guys. Then some dude in the front decided to insert his opinion in there by saying out loud.

"Thor moment!"

Then a girl clap back and said "Nooooo, CARRRROL MOment Thank you VEERY Much!" And the female cheer and hollar at that and yes she stretched the O's and rolled the R's.

For me I enjoyed most of it even the time travel that that they seem to got lazy in the end to resolved.I was disappointed that Fat Thor is the Thor we get to see fighting in this epic battle instead of the best Thor possible aka Avengers 1 and 2 thor.

Another moment that I wish didn't happened had to do with Captain Marvel. Its find that she was in it up until the point where she showed up.

At this point I have seen Thanos kicked the shite out of Cap Tony and Thor with Stormbreaker and Moljinir. It wasn't a one sided battle but it was a beat down. They got their licks in but no big deal.

HOWEVER, A Thanos powered by the Infinity Gauntlet headbutted Brie Larson and HE was the one that girl hurt? That really scaled down the Danger factor. I would have been in even greater suspense had he head butted her and she slid across the pavement. But nope. Turns out the other Avengers didn't need to show up or do anything. Had Brie Larson been there from the get go, she would have Steppenwolf Thanos like Superman did in Justice League.

Even Thanos army could not stop Brie Larson Captain Marvel, don't even know why she needed the help. She went through all of them like paper machete. Heck Thanos last result was to destroy the machine because he couldn't stop her.

I felt nothing at Tony's death but then again I didn't feel anything at Spider-Man death. Because this is a comic movie and I knew they will be back. Even Tony in some way eventually.

The last sticking point was Steve, was old man Rogers there the entire time during the events of all the Avengers or did disguise himself and was the man Peggy Carter married in Captain America winter soldier?

I totally thought Thanos was just using the reality stone to make them think they killed him.

Basically he would be left alone by making them think he had destroyed the stones and killed him.

I fell asleep at the start but it picked up later.

The people they have left are not as interesting as the ones leaving. I also wonder how they sell a standard "Here's one superhero that's going to fight one villian" movie now.

and the all chick thing was silly but whatever

So, what's the consensus? Is it the greatest thing ever or dissapointing?

IMO, the greatest "thing" ever as you would say and I'm 57 years old so I have seen a lot of different movies during my lifetime.

I think it is a solid 90/100. People didn't like Brie Larson Supermaning Thanos like Superman did to Steppenwolf. Other then that everything was good. Girl power moment was neat but not true grip because the girls failed.
