You have returned back to your Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor portrayal: frustrating, all over the place, with hints of insanity for insanity sake.

If Affleck can infect it with a little bit of The Town, it could be great.
And he has to keep Snyder far far away.
Affleck's Batman script has been written
And per his comments Geoff Johns helped.

Any talk about Batman v Superman making so much money because of "word of mouth" is flat out wrong I believe. This is one of those movies you see whether you think it will be bad or not. It's an event, and you want to form your own opinion about it.
There's plenty of people that like it enough, but word of mouth could only serve to dampen the hype. The level of hype was so high, word of mouth couldn't possibly be raising it any higher, with all the negative response out there.
The people you interact with and the critics reviews does not equal how everyone feels
There's a lot of positive BvS word of mouth being spread that gets people to go watch it whether you want it to happen or not

Kevin Smith is now saying he liked the movie. Backtracking much?

Guess he found it got better with another viewing?
Posted on 3/30/16 at 3:36 pm to hawgfaninc
Pretty much. He said he liked it better on the second viewing. I guess that's not necessarily backtracking, but he was slamming it pretty hard.
ETA: Maybe I heard that wrong.

I have to admit, there is something about a second viewing for this film that worked wonders on me. First time it was like trying to read a newspaper with a fly buzzing around your face, hard to take in and feel satisfied. Second time around it was a much smoother ride.

Well...a little. I actually listened to both reviews. One was on his podcast Hollywood Bable On where he ragged on it pretty hard...or as hard as he ever does. He did a second more in depth one on his podcast Fatman on Batman that dropped today. On that one, he was more charitable...
But if you listen to it, he sounds like many of the guys here who DESPERATELY wanted to love it, but didn't...and is trying so very hard to find anything nice to say about it. He spends the entire hour picking apart pieces of it and wincing about specifics, and then says, "But we got to see a PARADEMON!!!!"
And in the end, he says what I've already said...we're all going to see it because we love this property. We're gonna go see the next one even if we didn't like this one. And we'll see the one after that.
I'd encourage people to take the time to actually listen to it...it's actually kind of painful to listen to a guy who's such a fan twist himself into pretzels trying to like a thing he wants to love so badly but can;t.

Keep in mind that Kevin Smith wrote one of the shittiest Batman comics ever.

Kevin Smith is a shill. I bet DC called him up and made him backtrack.

I tend to think it was as simple as no longer having expectations that were being smashed by the first viewing and simply sitting back and trying to make heads or tails of what he knew was actually there...which is a pretty normal thing to say about any movie that had potential issues with the clarity n story telling.
But as someone that listened to both, I'll tell you...if that's what shilling sounds like, then I'd never pay that dude to give a glowing review of anything of mine. It comes off like a parent trying desperately to say something mice about his kid's recital or something.
He never retracts any of his issue he brought up in his first review, just that he softened a bit on certain things...but his tone is just kind of disappointed. From a guy that wanted to love this thing so much, it's just disheartening to hear...

And almost wrote and directed what would have been the best Superman movie ever

Kevin Smith is a strange cat. He basically says he liked it better the first viewing (which he bashed the shite out of it after). He basically spends that entire hour bashing the movie and says he doesn't hate it.
He's losing it.
He basically says I love the characters, so I like the movie, even though it's not very good.

Right...it was painful to listen to. Dude wanted to love it so much, picked it apart, and then still couldn't bring himself to saying he didn't like it, despite having disliked most of the individual pieces of it.
Those are the types of reviews that scare me the most before seeing it...because it sounds like how much I like these characters and how hurt I'll be to see this opportunity squandered. Ugh...
