Before the last sequence and Luthor's rantings what evidence do we see that points to this?

The painting depicting the devil and demons on the wall in his father's study. How he took note to talk about it. The picture was more about evil than good. He talked of gods throughout the movie. Most (the audience) thought he was talking only about Superman. I took it as he was talking about Darkseid. Especially when they showed the painting.

Was there anything in the vision that points to an origin? Or is it just because you have the comic knowledge?

I don't understand what you're asking. I mean about the vision that points to an origin. What origin.

I think Snyder trying to wrap in like 3 other stories was the problem

I agree with this.

man I wish it had been Cranston. Lex would have been a more menacing character. i was just never into the lex we got - he never felt threatening to me at all.

Then it was "Well, let's set up Justice League and incorporate Infinite Crisis" WTF? All in one movie? Somebody should have said it was way too much.

But how do you get from here to Infinite Crisis? We have not established that an infinite multiverse exists or existed and was destroyed.

Do you mean Final Crisis? I really couldn't see them getting there in a few movies. There is too much to establish... New Gods, multiverse, relationships.

Haven't gone back and re-read the thread, but what is your overall assessment of this thing?

It seems like Zack might be going there. Or at least he thinks he is:
quote:

"As opposed to trying to shoehorn all these storylines into a single universe, we let the characters exist in a multi-universe, and it's a lot more fun, and a lot more value for the audience."
Whatever the frick that means. LINK

They're not going to incorporate the entire thing, but the elements are there.

I get the symbolism, but what evidence (until the final scene - which makes most sense because of the Kryptonian ship) exists to link Luthor to Darkseid?

To an origin of "another god?" Or that the vision has origin in another god? How do we know some other god is giving Batman visions?

That was an awesome line from Alexander.

That was a poor rip-off/misquote of David Hume's logical syllogism for the problem of evil and it's quite easy to refute just by adding one of several propositions to it.

I personally viewed it as lazy writing.

There isn't much of a place to go. Do we really think Affleck is in this for 10 more years? Just a dumb place to kick off the series.

So much this. How did they possibly think it would be a good idea to kick off the Justice League run, since that was the sole purpose of this movie, with an aging Batman?

If he fought criminals for twenty years then he's in his forties. Ten more years as the senior member of the JLA isn't ridiculous (especially since DC had the JSA in action for fifty years). Every superhero doesn't need to be 25 years old.

It has more to do with Affleck's age than the story (but even the story is a problem, but I can deal with that if we knew what we were getting in to). But 3 years between films...Affleck can get in at most 3 more movies.

Superman also didn't know where she was yet.
And if Batman didn't go, then we wouldn't know that Batman and Superman are now friends after they just tried to kill each other 5 minutes ago.

How did Batman know where she was? Was that the scene Alfred just dropped the info for him to go get her?

Alfred + Lois = How you get shite done

Isn't he about the same age as RDJ when he got started? I don't think it's that big of an issue.

He was still tracking the russian's phone from the underground fight. He knew the russians were the muscle for Lex.
