Just walked out the theatre. Thought it was awesome. Actress that play Nikki was phenomenal. Some really funny moments, the phone call in the car was hilarious. Her hiding in the corner was pretty great too but the whole movie was genuinely creepy and scary af. This dude is gonna be huge in the horror genre.

So funny you said “Smile 2” because that was the first movie that came to mind remaining so unsettling the entire way through plus her performance

Yeah smile 2 is incredible too and that leading actress was great. Both her and Nikke nailed it.

I think smile 2 was scarier but the actress in Obsession had the better performance. Out of this world showing

Went in blind thanks to this thread and was not disappointed. I almost jumped out of my seat during the scene in the car towards the end.

Had the highest of expectations. Been a huge Barker and Tomlinson fan for a while now. The movie absolutely delivered.

5* instant classic. First movie Ive given 5* since 2019 and the best horror movie since The Witch/The Wailing. I just sat there during the credits. Gobsmacked. Inde Navarrette gave one of the best performances of the century.

Curry Barker just gets it. The score. The use of shadows/darkness was perfect. Great blocking/camera placement, and he was a huge highlight as the customer service voice.

The two movies it reminded me the most of was Smile for the female performance and the original Halloween for the technical perfection.

The premise sounds a lot like the Tales from the Crypt episode “Loved to Death” where the guy puts a love potion on his crush and at first it’s great until he realizes she is obsessed with him beyond psychotic stalking.

Crypt episode spoilers:

He then kills himself. Finally free of her at St. Peter’s pearly gates.. until he hears her voice and sees her there with a mutilated face . She got so sad that he offed himself that she put a shotgun barrel in her mouth to be with him again. Now he’s stuck with her forever in the afterlife, minus all of her physical beauty.

Haven’t seen Obsession yet

The wildest part to me about that scene was that you knew it was coming and it still had me shook

I agree. I was a little shocked how satisfied I was leaving the theater. It exceeded all of my expectations for sure

Just got out. Horror hot take time.

I thought this was one of the few movies that genuinely frightened and disturbed me, and I loved the entire ride.

Movie was great and genuinely creepy! Nicki reminded me of all the crazy count I dealt with in college. But damn what a wild movie. The ending was so fricked but I'm glad they didn't play it safe. I honestly felt bad for her because she was really innocent in all this. Bear turned her into a monster.

She’s was basically a prisoner. Between the phone call and what she was saying while she was asleep I keep wondering where her consciousness went. The phone call made me think she was somewhere surrounded by total darkness or maybe observing everything that was happening without having any control.

Just got out. Scariest movie since probably Smile 1. My god that was unsettling. 5 stars from me. The chick absolutely makes it. Without her performance it’s just an average horror

Crazy how curry baker and Zach braggers both came from YouTube sketch comedy and now blowing up in the horror scene

My twitter had been filled with curry sketches. The face he makes in all the videos makes me laugh every time

Yeah that was good. The main guy looks like a young Bruce Campbell. Also the main girl was hot and did a great acting job

SPOILERS:

Agree. The "real" Nikki was trapped inside "freaky Nikki." Her consciousness was still there. When Bear's death finally set her free, she immediately regained control.

It’s a crime more people aren’t watching this. I think WOM will definitely help this one over the long weekend. I’ve pestered four people so far to give it a shot and they all loved it.
