Haven't seen any post about this movie yet. Is anyone else really excited for this one?
Curry Barker directing. I have been following the "That's a Bad Idea" YouTube channel for a few years now and they've got some really good comedy skits and well as some well-done short form horror. If you haven't watched their found footage horror movie on YouTube I highly suggest you do so. It's titled Milk and Serial.

Reviews for Obsession are great so far if that means anything to you. Think Barker is also connected to a new adaptation of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre but I could be mistaken. Either way I could definitely see this guy becoming one of the next big horror directors.

#1 anticipated movie of the year for me. I love their comedy skits and Milk and Serial was an incredible first film for them.

I havent watched a trailer. I dont want any detail spoiled about the film. I bought my One Wish Willow when they were announced. Ill be seeing the movie on Saturday.

I’ve seen a few very unsettling clips of this movie and heard the main chick actress crushes her role. Will try to see it this weekend

I'm trying to go either Friday but the only time I can make it is the 10:25pm showing which is a little late. Might end up going Saturday as well.

Saw this tonight, and it was fantastic. Best horror I’ve seen in years, and legitimately scary. This is the kind of movie that I cant wait to watch again with others just to watch their reactions; it gets friggin wild

Just saw tonight. It’s phenomenal. I would be shocked if there is a better horror movie this year. Couple scenes gave me chills and was also hilarious.

Very jealous of y'all. Don't think I am going to be able to make it this weekend. Might try and go to a midweek showing next week but I've had this one on my board since I heard he was directing a full length feature. Reading the reviews it sounds like It's as good as I expected it to be.

You knew it was going to be funny but I was surprised how unsettling it was at times. Don’t remember getting chills in a horror film in awhile

I saw it today and I’m a little split.
Was it anything amazing? No
But was it good and entertaining? Yes!

It was very much an episode of black mirror. With a budget under 1 million, it will be a big hit.

2 spoilers I will post later this weekend I’m have questions on

Honestly, I thought it was. Like it won’t win any Oscar’s or the like, but as a big Horror fan this is the first movie to scare/creep me out in several years . Curry Barker has a knack for it, I’m in for whatever he does going forward, in like flynn

I didn’t think it was that scary (heart rate rising) but it was more cringe horror.

Like in the office how things are so awkward and cringey it’s funny. This movie has scenes that was awkward/cringey situations that got me nervous

Heart rate rising story.
Was watching 28 years later in theaters during the opening scene hunting the bloaters in the woods.
My Apple Watch started going off because of a spike in heart rate. Only time it ever happened

they spent about $2M total and sold it at Tiff for $17M. The filmmakers already cash out big.

Now to see if the distributors can make money too.

Wild movie with some legit scares and laughs.

Feel like there is some more meat on the bone to this universe. The phone call was pretty disturbing for example and I have so many questions about it. Really entertaining movie though. Felt very A24ish.

I agree but definitely left satisfied. Maybe it was just being hungover with the chills but for some reason her running backwards midway really got me

So awesome to hear this director is handling Texas chainsaw massacre

This movie was fricking unhinged, a masterpiece of cringe. Something I’ve never seen before with acting from the leading lady on par with Smile 2. Just an incredible performance, one for the ages in horror. I’m a huge Curry Barker fan from his YouTube channel and am so pleased for his success. Truly an insane film which gave me “The Chair” vibes.
