I saw it a couple of days ago. I liked it but didn’t think it was anything amazing.

If you go in expecting/hoping for straight up horror and/or gore then you will be disappointed. It’s not that kind of movie. I’d even go so far as saying that it’s more disturbing than it is scary. Still, the acting is probably the best I’ve seen in a horror movie since Hereditary. Inde Navarrette is fantastic and Michael Johnston is equally good. They carry the film since it’s essentially all about them. It’s creepy as hell but also tragically sad at the same time. Curry Barker’s decision to have Nikki scream over the closing credits was genius. What a way to end it.

Man that scene where she gets up from the table
Also her outfits for that date and the party were
a true baddie
Spoilers
And that phone call makes it sound like she’s a prisoner being held captive somewhere which is really creepy and disturbing and added a nice layer to it on top of her already seemingly being trapped in her own body (the random snap backs to reality were so timely and jarring)

There are times I’m grateful the outrageous price for concessions prevents me from eating during a movie. “My little food critic” was one of them.
