I saw it a couple of days ago. I liked it but didn’t think it was anything amazing.

If you go in expecting/hoping for straight up horror and/or gore then you will be disappointed. It’s not that kind of movie. I’d even go so far as saying that it’s more disturbing than it is scary. Still, the acting is probably the best I’ve seen in a horror movie since Hereditary. Inde Navarrette is fantastic and Michael Johnston is equally good. They carry the film since it’s essentially all about them. It’s creepy as hell but also tragically sad at the same time. Curry Barker’s decision to have Nikki scream over the closing credits was genius. What a way to end it.

Man that scene where she gets up from the table
Also her outfits for that date and the party were
a true baddie
Spoilers
And that phone call makes it sound like she’s a prisoner being held captive somewhere which is really creepy and disturbing and added a nice layer to it on top of her already seemingly being trapped in her own body (the random snap backs to reality were so timely and jarring)

There are times I’m grateful the outrageous price for concessions prevents me from eating during a movie. “My little food critic” was one of them.

What a movie, can’t believe it only cost 750k, it looks just as good if not better than some 25-50 mil budget movies. And doesn’t feel like it was really constrained by its budget. There were multiple sets and horror scenes throughout
Trajectory at the box office is looking somewhat similar to paranormal activity. 2nd weekend has overpaced its first. Looks like it’s tracking to be at 40-55 mil after weekend 2

There’s probably a short film they could make that’s just entirely from Nikki’s perspective

The behind the scenes photos of the Nikki makeup is crazy.
Whoever idea that was is smart.
Everyone notices how weird her face is in the dark corner, but for it done with just a little bit of make up is awesome

Like others have said, one of the most disturbing movies I've ever seen. I couldn't believe what I was watching during the scene in the car between Bear and Sarah. The actress that played Nikki gives an incredible performance.

Holy shite that’s impressive

Very good movie. The main female actor did an incredible job as many people have said, but the main guy was very good also!! He was perhaps a little overshadowed by her, but he knocked it out of the park.

Made the mistake of watching it last night then trying to go to bed immediately after. I don’t think I slept at all last night.

Went and saw with my dad last night. Absolutely delivered and exceeded my high expectations.
The scenes where real Nikki would snap out of it and/or regain control for a split second were so well-acted it unsettled the shite out of me. The performance was very Jim Carrey-esque in its physicality - all the facial contortions and absurd movements were just great. That reverse walk to the shadows followed by her hitting him with the hesi
You guys covered a lot of the good parts, but I also wanna shout out the phone call with her screaming and the "kill me" scene. So dark and good. The scene on the porch with her veiled in shadow with the red/orange catchlights in her eyes was super cool too

Amazing what you can do when you hire actors off the street and emphasize quality over quantity when it comes to sets

Saw it this weekend, so damn good.
Lead actress absolutely killed it.
