This movie is absolute garbage down the home stretch.
Shrill and relentless. Unpleasantly gratuitous.
I did like the table-setting during first half.
Some talent here on display. But a half-baked apprentice effort.

It was clear that Nikki and the friend were hooking up (or had in the past). It was clear Nikki was going to show up at the park where Bear met Sarah. It was clear that Bear would die at some point and would snap Nikki out of it.
So all of those things were pretty clearly foreshadowed and weren’t the big surprises the movie wanted them to be.

So you missed huge parts of the movie. Real Nikki popped out every once in awhile anytime she saw her reflection and tried to kill herself because she was basically trapped in a void. Thats the freaking out and hurting herself part. Knowing that Ian and Nikki were hooking up isn’t predicting anything, they show it to you with Nikki wearing Ian’s jacket at the beginning of the movie. Saying you knew Bear was going to die is also pretty funny since the one wish Willow guy foreshadowed the possibility. And again Chapelle’s joke doesn’t apply. Not sure what your angle is.

I didn’t miss any of that. And real Nikki only explained some of that. Not all of it. And I never said I figured things out like some genius. Just that they foreshadowed things too much so the later “reveals” weren’t as impactful for me.
And the shopping thing is a literal meme/joke that clearly went over your head.
But holy shite, man, I’m sorry I didn’t think this movie was awesome. I enjoyed it okay, it was decent. But I was disappointed in it overall since I’ve been wanting to watch it for months and finally did. There is no “angle” here. I don’t even know what you mean by that. Are you gonna be okay?

Well you said you predicted it not that it was shown to you so totally opposite really. You don’t like it that’s cool, just wondering why and you got defensive.

I said it was too predictable. And it was. The foreshadowing wasn’t subtle so you knew what was coming too often. That was my main problem with it.
And my “defensiveness” was answering questions.
But then you didn’t like my answers so I had to explain them further.

And in between I explained why (things were way too foreshadowed, for example), then basically treated the answers again. You just didn’t like my answers, and kept getting hung up on the shopping comment, which was nothing more than a random comment/joke that went clear over your head. And here we are.
I suspect you’re one of those “have to have the last word” people, so I suspect your next response to me will be more of the same, and you can win so we don’t distract from the thread even more than we already have.
Sorry I didn’t think the movie was as good as you did. I hope one day I can properly make amends for that atrocity and can be forgiven.

We finally watched it this week.
I thought it was great, especially for the budget. The lighting tricks they used were incredible. Had way more humor in it than I was expecting. The budget was very noticeable during the car scene
Speaking of the car scene, I think everyone knew that Nikki would show up, especially with the continued lingering on the window behind Sara, but I thought that was great at building the suspense of it.
Indie Navarette was incredible. Just fantastic facial acting throughout. The guy playing Bear was fine.
Curry needs to ditch his buddy though, as I thought he was by far the weakest part of the movie.
My main complaint is that I wish it was scarier. The only truly scary scene was the bedroom scene where she was in the corner and then hiding her face behind the flower vase.

I like Inde Navarrette. She’s very good and hope she takes off. But the last 20 years includes Toni Collette (Hereditary), Samara Weaving (Ready or Not), Mia Goth, Anya Taylor-Joy, etc.

Mia Goth was really good but she's so weird looking
The others were great but I still put Indy on top for me especially given the budget and what they had to work with. All those other movies were 10 million and up

Watched this one tonight, thought it was pretty good. Not worth the over top acclaim. I feel like anytime a film is low budget people really try to put it on a higher pedestal calling it art. Actress was excellent though no question about that.

I don’t know of anyone calling this movie “art”. It’s getting the acclaim because it’s actually “scary” , which most horror movies seem to lack these days
