Newsradio is woefully underappreciated. Any other fans?

All star cast.
Joe Rogan
Steven Root
Maura Tierney
Phil Hartman
Dave Foley
Andy Dick
Jon Lovitz

It’s dated and hard to find (I found a couple seasons streaming on crackle) but good comedy.

Kind of lost some chutzpah after Phil Hartman got murdered but still worth a watch.

Anyone know where I can find it streaming?

I have local copies.

It was my favorite "currently airing" show at the time Phil was murdered. I think Hartman was the only established name at the time the show came on. Nobody knew Rogan, Foley, Tierney or Dick before that and few knew Root.

I think it was in the same key as Archer - that kind of workplace humor. I thought the writing and acting were spot on, but obviously Hartman held the show together.

The show felt like a spiritual successor to WKRP, another underappreciated show, IMHO.

frick you, Andy Dick.

Watched it when it was on back in the day. Sadly, the show died when Phil Hartman passed.

Oh and Maura Tierney

Is it just me or does anybody not remember Joe Rogan's acting career at all? Before he became a MMA commentator, and podcast host, I just knew Rogan as the host of Fear Factor. Had no idea he was ever an actor.

He never really was. Newsradio was his first real acting job.

I was familiar with the show, but didn't watch it. NewsRadio was supposed to showcase Foley and, to a lesser degree, Tierney. Hartman came in and stole the show.

One of my favorite TV moments...Jimmy James' book reading where his book was translated from English, to Japanese, back to English.

Macho Business Donkey Wrestler

Super Karate Monkey Death Car

ETA...while I loved all of the characters...Jimmy James is, to this day, one of the funniest characters ever written.

Joe Garrelli was basically just Joe Rogan so he was barely acting.

slight hijack but I remember when I was younger Newsradio and Just shoot me would always air back to back on whatever network it was, maybe USA, and I'd watch those while falling asleep.

The first few seasons with Phil Hartman was easily up there with Seinfeld as best sitcom of the 90s. Stephen Root is such a great actor in all these small roles he does. Been a fan of his since this show.

I always had a thing for Vicki Lewis, but I love redheads.

And yeah I totally forgot Patrick Warburton was in it too.

He’s great

Yeah, not really true. Maybe they weren't mainstream in Hollywood, but Andy Dick and Dave Foley were well known at the time. Dick was a regular on The Ben Stiller Show, and had several appearances in movies in the early 90's, and Dave Foley was known from his role on Kids In the Hall, and also appeared in a handful of early 90's movies.

I will say though that I was a stoner college student at the time and was way into a lot of those "undergound" type comedy sketch shows - Kids In the Hall, Mr Show(Foley was in at least one episode of it), Ben Stiller Show, SCTV(not a 90's show, but reruns were on TV a lot back then), etc. So maybe my perception is off.

I loved this show when it came on. I watched it when it originally aired, but never really caught the reruns (like with Seinfeld or Friends), so I bet if I did a rewatch now it would almost be like watching it anew.

Is it on any of the steaming services?
