Star Wars at this point has no chance of winning. It’s either too woke, too serious, too slapstick. They just need to get back to story telling and building up the unknown, mysterious side of it. This movie was made too late. Should have just been season 3. Building up a new universe in the old republic is their only way out imo. Getting as far away from skywalker as possible.

Right, so just completely blaming something on a generation that has less to do with it than the one above it.

I didn't come up with the term, frickface.

from google:

quote:

Millennial snark in TV and movies is characterized by irony, meta-awareness, and a "defense mechanism" against sincerity, often undercutting serious moments with quips. This style, prevalent in MCU humor and shows like Velma, reflects a "problematic" yet self-aware perspective, exemplified by Lena Dunham’s work. It often serves to combat anxiety and isolation

I’ll never call him “Baby Yoda” again.

From this day forward, he’s “Retard Yoda”.

That looks terrible.

It doesn't help that I've grown to hate Pedro Pascal. We'll look back in one day and wonder why studios decided to make him the face of EVERYTHING EVER THAT EVER CAME OUT...

He couldn't even bother to read his lines like he's in an action sequence.

But golly, that little Blinkus creature sure is adorable. What kind of hijinks will he get into next?

That voiceover work has the excitement of reading a dishwasher manual.

I won't sit here and say it looks but, but we also should have learned by now not to take a clip of a 2 hour film and think that's the tone of the movie.

It's like a horribly done stolen scene from Guardians of the Galaxy

I’m gonna go see it. I won’t lie. I’ve never NOT seen a Star War on opening night. I don’t expect to be miserable the way I was from the opening scene of The Last Jedi. (Your mom… ugh)

But it looks like a generic Marvel movie with extra baby groot.

I’m content to have Andor be the peak of Star Wars. I don’t see how they could ever surpass or even meet that level again, even if they put out a competent product.

I went my first 40 years loving 3 2-hour movies. Surely I can coast on the next 40 off of 24 1-hour long episodes.

This has so much potential. I just want Grogu to go crazy force user and take out everybody. If that could happen, just once, the whole series would pay off. Instead we get this crap.

Oh. . .

Oh dear.

Seems like "he's right behind me, isn't he?" level of writing, stretched out to a whole scene

This has no reason to be a feature film.
