Wondery did Dr Death and Dr John. If you like those and have any interest in Hollywood, you'll love Hollywood and Crime.
The Black Dahlia Murders, Manson Family, Billionaire Boys Club, and the unsolved murder of William Desmond Taylor are all covered in 6-8 episodes each.
The Black Dahlia series is probably the best podcast I've ever listened to.

You like true crime? Recently finished Your Own Backyard, which was really good. Currently listening to Up and Vanished. Both unsolved missing persons cases.

Looks like that requires a subscription now. Wondery coming up in the world.

If you like zombie stuff try “We’re Alive”
Also…unsolved mysteries is back and pretty good in the podcast format.
The top recommendation though is “the thing about Pam” with my man Keith Morrison narrating.

It used to be free(with ads) on iheart radio and spotify.
If you've ever played L.A. Noire, it covers all of the murders that were in the game that also happened in LA around the time of The Black Dahlia.
Timothy Olyphant narrates the one on the Billionaire Boys Club.
They also have some multi episode series on the making of films like Psycho, The Exorcist, Star Wars, and Jaws that are really good.
It'd be worth a month's subscription to knock them all out. Business Wars is good too.

Your Own Backyard
I second Your Own Backyard. Maybe one of the best unbiased, investigative podcasts I've ever heard.
Here's another list to add to those already mentioned:
Bear Brook
Firebug
Monster: The Zodiac Killer
S-Town
The Apology Line
Tom Brown's Body
Your Own Backyard

The Line is fairly new and is great. It's about the Eddie Gallagher case and the Navy SEALS in Iraq overall. Very well done and an interesting story. It changed my perception on that whole case.

if you're looking for something a little more light hearted, i'd recommend "Valley Heat."
it's a sitcom type podcast with a very self-unaware host.
LINK
it's intentional comedy from the guy running the podcast, but unintentional on the part of the character he's playing.
everybody i've turned on to it has said it's a good laugh.

I also forgot to mention You Must Remember This. It's usually just tales of old Hollywood, she did a mini-series of like 10 episodes inside the main podcast a few years back about the Manson Family situation. It's incredible. This is the one you should listen to.

If you enjoy movies, you may like season 2 of “The Plot Thickens.” It covers the production of Brian De Palma’s film adaptation of “The Bonfire of the Vanities.” Extremely interesting and informative take on why a movie that had all the ingredients of a major hit (best-selling book, big name (at the time) director, all-star cast) ultimately became a box office bomb & cautionary tale.

Loved The Habitat. But it’s not fiction. It’s the true story about people picked to participate in a fake experiment simulating life on Mars.
I like the Slow Burn series on various political events, Watergate, the Clinton Impeachment, David Duke.
Also, Disgraceland is kind of fun. There’s a lot of them about various rock and roll stars and their scandals and escapades.

That's a good podcast that covers all of the details in the case. It would be a lot better without her need to try to constantly inject a feminist slant where it doesn't belong.
She does the exact same thing when she covers the Golden Age of Hollywood and the HUAC. I love the subjects that Karina Longworth covers but she's an unbearable twat.

I feel like these are podcasts for people that pretend to enjoy NPR...and podcasts.

Small Town Murder and Crime In Sports are two good podcasts IMO, both hosted by the same duo. While the episodes are extremely detailed and informative, the hosts spare no expense taking the piss from inept law enforcement, dumbass criminals, sleazy owners & GMs, etc (the victims and their families are off-limits tho, because in the hosts' own words, they might be assholes but they're not scumbags), which make for an entertaining couple of hours. Huge back catalog to draw from, too.
