With Dexter and Bloodline already being mentioned, I'll go with Law Abiding Citizen - Clyde should have killed everyone - no way they get the drop on him.

Why?

The shootout and the hand clasping were both retarded. I thought it was a terrible ending to a solid movie.

The Moby song in the background was a perfect touch.

It was perfectly fitting. What would you have preferred? A happy ending where they walk off into the sunset ?

I completely disagree. It was cliche and corny as frick, typical Hollywood b.s, especially given that it was such a great movie otherwise. Oh look, the cop got the robber. The ending fell completely flat IMO.

The clapse was a sign on respect. The diner scene was a precursor. Still one if my favorite movies. The shadows at the airport. Awesome. Of all the shitty endings, you pick this one?

You are grazing the surface of meaning of the entire film. The thought of his ex kept him going, but the symbol of the wings are what made him take the chance to get off the island. It is a metaphor. He finally had control of his destiny at the end of the film hence the crossroads where he could go which direction he chooses including the path back to the rancher's house.

This dude gets it.

There are even hints that he didn't want to marry Kelly (Helen Hunt) and that family pressure was moving him that way. He went from having no control over his life, hence why FedEx was able make him fly across the planet on Christmas Eve on a moment's notice, to complete control of his direction and destiny.

When my opinion on here is opposite of yours, I know it's a sound opinion.

Manchester by the Sea was a great movie and I still can't get over how lame the ending was after such a strong performance. The ending has been bugging me for a while now.

The ending was perfect. They were clinging to a dying way of fighting and killing. They had to make way for more progressive forms of violence. There is a lot more metaphor there but I don't want to go into something that just goes right over your head. You probably think Liam neeson should have fought the wolf on screen in the grey too. Probably think Moss and Anton should have had a shootout to death and don't even realize Bell is the main character You're a god damn moron

$10,000.00 says this guy loved the ending of "No Country for Old Men"...

To the OP, I was disappointed in the ending of Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

That song (God moving over the face of the water) and his song used in the sopranos (when its cold I'd like to die) are 2 of the most beautiful songs ever produced.
