Must watch Sci-Fi Shows

I think we should put together a list of the shows that any person wanting to get into sci-fi TV should watch. (Caveats can be included, like stopping a certain show after season X).
1. Star Trek (TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT) - skip the CBS shows. The Animated Series isn't a "must" see, but is voiced mostly by the original cast.
2. Doctor Who (Modern - Eccleston/Tennant/Smith runs, plus some of Capaldi's) (I honestly tried watching Classic Who with my wife, but the pacing was hard for me to get into - others may like it)
3. Farscape (Very grounded in having heroes with flaws)
4. Babylon 5 (Seasons 1-4) (Very much a space opera political series)
5. The Expanse (Very grounded/realistic in the depiction of space travel)
6. Red Dwarf (very goofy British series)
7. Quantum Leap (only sort-of sci-fi - the premise is, but the actual stories have little to do with science fiction)
8. The Outer Limits / The Twilight Zone (classic B&W shows)
9. Firefly (too short for its own good, but also means there's not really any "bad" episodes either)
10. The X Files
11. The Mandalorian (not including most Star Wars shows simply because most are more of a "space fantasy", but the Mandalorian's lack of Jedi/Sith prevalence makes it more science fiction)
Any more I'm not thinking of?

Good list. I would add Fringe off the top of my head.
And Battlestar Galactica after some thought.

Good point- I loved Fringe. Eureka and Warehouse 13 as well. Are they must watch though?

Modern, the end, last 5 episodes, was kinda soft but the rest of the series was very good.

ETA: Didn't read the rest of the thread, but yes....BSG is like Top 3 easily.

I'll watch some classic Who on PlutoTV, and it just varies wildly from season to season. Some years they have very tight, focused stories that last the whole season, and some years the show just seems to be about watching the Doctor walk around looking all mysterious and aloof without the companions or viewers being really clued in. You have to enjoy the aesthetics and vintage effects more than the plot, it seems like.

British shows take a bit of getting used to. I've not seen many of the classic Doctor Who, Red Dwarf, but if you're on board , Torchwood is a spin off of modern Doctor Who that I enjoyed.
Some of the older sci fi shows might not hold up, but Space 1999 is worth a look.
