Watchmen

Was a solid if not good adaptation of the graphic novel.

YMMV on the HBO series.

Public Enemies was alright but it did not live up to the trailer.

Good gosh yes. This is the champion right here. I was so pumped for the guy behind it all to come back and show you what was going on before Alien, to expand the science fiction surrounding that. And you got a big steaming heaping pile of shite. Absolutely shite.

Some of you people. It's a pretty good movie. I get that it wasn't what you wanted or expected.

That first trailer especially, with the darker tone? I was absolutely set to see that.

Zack Snyder is the absolute master of this.

He makes GOAT trailers and then the actual movie is something less than desirable to subtly put it.

Watchmen is not a bad movie. It's just based on a badass comic book, one of the best all time. It's going to be hard to live up to that.

Maybe I was wrong for thinking The Counsellor (2013) was going to be good after seeing this preview on YouTube?

Definitely TLJ.

The "there are no strings on me" line sounded so sinister and intimidating in the teaser. Then movie Ultron was anything but

Should have gone all in on a scifi horrorish direction. Such a good line wasted in a shite movie.

I will say, Age of Ultron was much better on rewatch than I remembered it being, but yeah. Still not as great as that incredible trailer.

The Happening

...the trailer was definitely intriguing, you're thinking, what the hell is going on here? This is gonna be really unique...and Sixth Sensy to the next level.

Well it was unique, uniquely stupid. The answer to the set-up in the trailer is one of the worst reveals ever.

The problem is Ultron is probably the most terrifying, disturbing, and disturbed comic book villain of all time. If he was imprisoned at Arkham everyone would be disturbed by him and keep their distance. Instead they made him a goofball in this film instead of a terrifying presence that everyone in the world would be shitting their pants over. Ultron should have killed every last man, woman, and child in at least two cities. He’s a uniquely terrifying villain, and the film failed. Not the biggest Gwyneth Paltrow fan, but she should have been a major part of the film where Ultron abducts her and sexually abuses her. He’s really, really fricked in the head in the comics.
